How does NE build their OL?

Didn't see this posted, good stuff. I hope Saban reads this article. It would take a couple years to build a decent OL this way, but makes a lot of sense.

Hope this link works.

They also have a QB that make the OL look good. Remember Marino? Yep, his OL's always looked good vs. the pass ruch but seemingly were never good enough to run the ball. LOL

GO PHINS~!

While it's true they have in the past spent little money on the offensive line, in the last two years when they moved towards a power running game they have used a 1st, a 3rd, and a 5th, plus given a good sized contract to their RG, and an even bigger one to lock up Matt Light.

frankly, they're smart! they draft and keep their linemen happy, and lineman are considered 'skill players'. but as with all their players, the Patriot way comes 1st. when the player gets dissatisfied with their $$ value, they're allowed to shop themselves to the highest bidder. of course, because they've been Patriots, the compensation for that player is one or more draft picks. it keeps the Pats system rolling along; $25-$30m under the cap, and fat with 1st draft picks.

unlike saban, belicheck doesnt believe in over-sized meat eater linemen. i guess he realizes they get slow, and lazy easily.

Houck is the one that loves the big guys.

It's a little bit of good coaching, and a lot of Tom Brady. Brady is like Marino, feels the pressure, and knows where to move in the pocket, but more importantly, he doesn't hold the ball.

He is as good in the pocket as any QB since Marino. I was always amazed at how Marino worked in the pocket and rarely got sacked.

Nonsense. There are plenty of elite huge offensive linemen in the league.
