I heard that if there is no deal between the owners and the players then a lot of players will sign one year deals and wait for the no cap year(2007). How will our 2006 rookie contracts be affected?

I don't think it will effect them too much. These rookie contracts is getting rediculous anyway. Ronnie getting 32 Mill? Alex Smith who might be worthless in the NFL getting the biggest contract in NFL history? Something needs to be done about this before it gets out of hand and it might be too late already. Players should have to prove themselves before they get that kind of money and a franchise has to suffer through the players contract or face penalties for letting them go IMO.

I agree I am over the amount of money a player can make without ever touching a pro football. I guess you never know you could be getting a Leaf or a Manning.

only takes about $2mil to sign rookies.
Maybe late round but 1-3 thats impossible. Ronnie set out most of TC and missed half the preseason for a signing bonus 6 times that not counting the other 24 mill.

I to think that players should prove themselves before getting those huge contracts. It´s just insane
