How Far/Close are we???

Honestly, how far or close do you think Miami is to being a legit playoff/championship team???I think if we wind up getting carr it would be a BIG upgrade at the most critical position, but would that be enough??? Our Secondary still has some holes, and the O-line could use some upgrades. I guess My question is.......If we were to get Carr(or any type of upgrade at QB) and Lose Madison, but the rest of the roster pretty much stays the same, will we be OK, Better, Worse, Will it be enough to get us over the hunt and at least to the playoffs???

Now I know we will Probably get some other players through the draft/Free agency that will help right away too, but I'm just saying........If we didn't but upgraded at QB how much would we improve?

2 or 3 years... I am going to get burnt for this but I dont see us getting past the 1st round of the playoffs next year... Especially with Gus... I could be wrong, of course... I think we need to develop our QB, then, we will be legit contenders....

We are a legitament playoff contender right now. I think 2007 or 2008 is when we'll be thinking Super Bowl.

You know I do see that there are other holes in this Fins team and that I think it will be another couple years before we are built up enough to possibly get a Super Bowl. As for playoff contender sure, and because I am a fan I foolishly or not will believe the Fins can win the Super Bowl next year because that is every fans dream coming into every season, even if they know better, so yeah the Fins can win the Super Bowl next year sure.

The secondary is a big concern but fixable this offseason. The other holes we have are less critical and can be coached around - a top-notch coach is the single-biggest advantage you can have, I believe.

BUT... we don't go anywhere signifigant until we get a quarterback. Even an average one would make a huge difference.

So how much we can compete next year depends, to me, entirely on that. If we upgrade quarterback our coaching can make us compete with anyone. If we don't, Saban can't overcome that enough to get us in the big game.
