I did some analysis of career stats for QBs. I limited the comparison to the top 100 QBs in total attempts to filter out the 1 year wonders.

Here are some interesting rankings:

Young,Steve 1.63
Brady,Tom 1.58
Brooks,Aaron 1.56

Culpepper adds a dimension to this offense that will be very difficult to defend.

If not for Manning, this guy could've been an MVP a few times! He can be that good if he's back to form. Just a HUGE "if".

As good as when he threw 39 tds to 11 ints

Don't forget his 5123 total yards in that season which is an NFL record since then. I believe he took it away from marino.

He can quite simply be the very best in this league, he has that much talent. Thats why I didn't want Brees over him.

I think Culpepper is going to be VERY good for us. He may never reach the level of 39 touchdowns again, but he can become a consistent 25-30 touchdown QB every year. I am very excited to see him play, and he is going to excel in this offense with McMichael, Booker, Chambers and Brown as receiving targets. He will probably struggle a little bit the first couple of weeks of the season(because it will be his first time back from the injury and a new offense), but he is a franchise QB for us for probably the next 5-7 years. This is a great time to be a Dolphins fan. :)

Plus it is nice to see Miami finally get their first franchise QB since the last one(Marino) and the Bills still struggling to find one since their last one(Kelly).

Saban is looking like a friggin genius right now. All season last year I was telling a budding of mine that Saban was playing Frerotte because he knew the offense. Saban was interested in getting the other 10 guys familiar with the offense. That would have been hard to do if the QB didn't know the offense (especially an inexperienced QB).

Now they acquire Culpepper and he will step in because he knows the offense. Chambers, Booker, McMichael, Brown, Jeno James, Vernon Carey, Hadnot all spent last year practicing the offense.

Culpepper doesn't need to be 100% to start practicing. He can run the passing part of the offense wearing the red jersey. As long as his knee is healthy enough to throw passes, he'll be able to practice.

This could be a very, very good offense.

Thats total yards, Marino had 5,084 passsing yards, if Marino's legs were as good as his arms than we would have gotten that record too.

Anyways nice post, Culpepper will be a stud for us in Miami.
