all things considered what kind of numbers do you guys think daunte will need to put up this year for us to make the playoffs, and how good will he have to be over the next few years if we want to dream of winning a superbowl? in other words, is our team as a whole good enough now or will they be good enough in the near future to win without culpepper putting up probowl numbers?

i honestly think our team is good enough now its just how everything gels and how we play as a unite, deff also if we play to our full potential....we have a good team but we will be even better once our rookies and young players get more experience and confidence......i can deff see us making it to the super bowl this season but im sure the odds will be better to make it the next year in the 07-08 season

i also think the fact of having the homefield advantage in the super bowl really gets looked over, im confident we will make the playoffs and once your in the playoffs anything can happen and with the fact that the super bowl will be on our turf and its a great opportunity would really motivate the team and help their run to a super bowl title

I think he needs to at least put a QB rating up of around 80 for us to make the playoffs.

Id personally like to see him put up about 3,500 yards and about 25 TD's

he doesnt have to put up stellar numbers i mean i'll take em but he just has to manage the game well and not throw picks and between ronnie and our D i think we'll be able to do it

your right he doesnt have to win the games by himself. we will be fine as long as he stays under control, and doesnt lose games with stupid mistakes

He doesn't have to be the absolute superstar he was in Minnesota.

We have a much better team and coaching staff to support him.

That being said, there is absolutely no reason to believe he can't or won't be the same kind of player he was in Minny.

I truly honestly belive that if he has the same type of year that he did in 2004, that we will be in the Super Bowl this year. I don't expect that out of him this year however. I expect him to be knocking on the top 10 in QB rating vaulting us to the AFC Championship game. If he is even middle of the pack, then we will be in the playoffs. Count on that.

He has to be good, but he doesnt have to be great. They went 9-7 with Ferrote.

He needs to put up his best (or at least a close second) season because thats what it will take to surpass Tom Brady, who always plays his A game in big situations and thats the only way to be assured of a playoff spot in this tough AFC conference.

Good point, and Gus Frerotte wasn't even close to good last year. Yeah he put up some big stats in a FEW games. But still, way too many times he was under 50% and ended up like 28th rated in the league.

Right you are...I think that we could all agree that he is not very good.
