Just a thought I had this morning. Everyone is saying "Yeah we are picking up this or that person but they can't throw." How good do you think the Dolphins will be with a guy like Carson Palmer dropping back for the Dolphins?

Is Carson Palmer really that good? He's always had some weapons to work with and for most seasons, it seems he's been middle of the pack. I'd love to have him, but I hope we don't sell the house to do so.

Mike Brown is not trading him.He will retire. So I have no thought on something that will never be a reality

While he'd only be a short-term fix, he'd be an improvement. Problem is, Cincy's owner isn't going to budge on the issue, so Carson is retired (at least this year). Doesn't help us unless we absolutely will draft a QB in the 1st next year to get ready to take over.

Carson Palmer is a much better QB than Henne or Orton. In his last two seasons the guy has had 7,000 and 47 TDs, 33 Ints - all for a team that he doesn't want to play for - doesn't have an offensive line - and has had very overrated position players (Chad Johnson, T.O., Cedric Benson) with no outlet players like a TE or RB that can catch out of the backfield. He would absolutely make this team a playoff contender. More so than Orton anyway.

How much does he have left is my question. Does he have 3 years to groom a rookie?

Can't see how you say Palmer is better then Orton when Orton had more yards, better td-int ratio and qb rating past 2 years with 3 less games and a similar level of talent around him. Palmer is more name then substance. Other then his 2nd year, he's never really lived up to the hype or #1 draft position.

Palmer is 31. Manning (35) Brady (34) Orton (28)

Manning and Brady seemed to have aged so much better then Palmer. Both look like they're still in their prime while Palmer looks like the NFL pounding has taken a toll on him both physically and mentally.

Ill play along. With Palmer under center we are an 11 win team, I firmly believe this. He would be rejuvenated and he is a massive upgrade to Henne. Wont happen though

Palmer could get us over the hump, albeit for a short time. As inconsistent as our line has been, it's better than anything Cincy has had and we aren't bringing in the NFL equivalent of Jerry Springer show guests to populate this team.

I'm tired of looking ahead. I want to win now. Palmer would help us win now, much more so than Henne or Orton.
