There's an ounce of truth in there. But the problem that overrides it, IMO, is the relative youth not only on the roster, but in coaching experience at current level, for most of Miami's coaches.
I'm ALL for giving kids time to grow into their role. I'm NOT for giving coaches extended rope. It took me a bit of time to jump off the Queasy support train...but after 2 years, I was ready to move on. After 1 year of Gase. And based on the fact neither of those guys went on to be successful elsewhere, I don't think my coach-meter was off. I wasn't always vocal or heavy-handed about not believing in them, I just had that feeling.
Flores is getting worse as an HC IMO. He peaked last year. He's making mistakes this year that he didn't make when there were no expectations. And I'd say 90% of his issues stem from not being able to compile the right staff to get it done. It leads to insufficient leadership, training, and confidence. We don't operate, on the field, with a killer mentality...we operate with an attempted finesse feel...and that would be all well and good, if we had the staff to support it. I don't believe we do. The only unit that has the confident, capable look, is the secondary.
I'm tired of seeing receivers act like they just scored the game winning touchdown when they make a catch for first down...its like, "awwww **** man I'm kickin' ass," but look at the scoreboard...this team doesn't have confidence. Celebrating little things doesn't lead to bigger things IMO.
