It is apparent that JI wasn't really in charge of running the Organisation from 2008-2011. It is also obvious that he , Jeff wasn't too fond of Bill's picks. However; Since Percel's exit he hasn't fared much better. He is desperately trying to put his signature on the team's structure. Hence the perpetual building mode that the team is stuck on. Let's see for example, the high picks of 09, gone. The high prized FAs of 10 and 11, gone. But why ? Do we really need to trade Vonta Davis ? Do we really need to gash the inside of the team's line backing core? Did he really upgrade the position? I don't think so! The problem now becomes if you fire Jeff, whoever you bring in would want to bring his own people and players. There goes another rebuilding process and am getting old!

Please show how he wasn too fond of any of Parcell's picks or that he wasnt pretty damn responsible for the picks. I also dont get the arguement to not change Gms because there goes another rebuilding process, if a processs isnt working sticking with it longer is not a proven way to make anything work. Ireland has been a major part of building the dolphins since 2008 and that is a fact you can ignore if you like. If you like the job he has done that is another argument

That is the common argument people make for Irie that he wasn't really in charge when bill was here so I kind of went with it. Look am not a big JI fan, I gave up on him last year when he traded our best reciever on the team, drafted a quarterback and didn't give him anybody to throw to. But firing him at this point... I don't know!

Ireland - has not put a winning team on the field.
he has had 5 years - he has had multiple 1st rounders' that didn't last, many 2nd rd picks that do much, and so one.
if the dolphins do not win this year with the talent he bought, Ross will have lost MILLIONS - and the fans base will once again grow tired of spending our $$ on the product.

Your heading to drive off a cliff, so instead of changing direction, at the cost of taking more time to get to your destination, you would rather plunge to your death to save time. Great plan.

Just because you get a different GM doesn't mean it's a complete overhaul..
thank you ...... I don't think some people understand that another gm worth anything ,would still kept the talented players .......... i.e Kansas city .

Yeah, Ireland had it rough, collecting millions of dollars to apparently sit in his office twirling his thumbs.

Bill Parcells left in 2010 by the way. Though that hasnt stopped others from declaring Ireland had no control in 2011. You just have to assign blame where it belongs: the fans.

I am old enough to remember the team being respected and having a good shot each year at the playoffs during Shulas years.
Ireland is one of those guys that did nothing outstanding to warrant his position as a NFL GM.
He was well networked and kissed jazz as a YES man.
He is a reflection of the teams he has built. Mediocre, not intelligent in a football sense, and only concerned about his next move personally.
He is just using this team IMO.

You hit the nail on the head, every time I think of all the decisions this guy makes it pisses me off so much. Why this guy is still the gm is beyond me. I'll always root for the dolphins but it's really difficult to watch baboons trying to steer a ship.... They'll never make it to land(Super Bowl)

He could have been playing Xbox to prepare for the upcoming draft!

By the way didn't we already cover the 2011 draft was all Sparano? He ranked it in revenge for Ross courting Harbaugh? I know I read this on Finheaven so it must be true.
