The team has three weeks to activate Jordan or he will remain on the Non-Football Injury list for the remainder of the season. The evaluation process at this point, though is more about whether he can make it through practices comfortably rather than determining whether he might be useful in a game.

“A lot of it is communication with him, just how he feels,” Adam Gase said when asked what his criteria is for a successful practice for Jordan. “It’s really the next day that you want to figure out where he’s at. So we just keep collecting that information and with the amount of time that we have, we can kind of each day track where he’s at.
“That’s why it’s nice to have the amount of people we have that track all of those little details with the GPS and how it is he feels, his workload for that day and how it looks like he’s moving the next day. We just constantly keep track of these things and then we have a good idea if we’re trending upward, if we’ve kind of plateaued or we’re inconsistent. We really do have a good amount of information as we get through, and the days pile up. We’ll see. It’s going to take time, obviously.”

I hope we get something out of him to even remotely justify Ireland trading up to get him.

That train has long gone for anything to justify where he was selected in the draft. Now its about can he be of use.

My first inclination is to agree, but then I look at a guy like Clowny who was worthless until this year, makes me think there is some hope, however slim, this guy could actually make a real impact. Like everyone else, I'm not holding my breath, but stranger things have happened.

one of our biggest fears, and a real possibility now more than ever, is that we cut this dude, ando comes up VERY handy for another team, division even, to make it worse...I'd wait until there is absolutely NO USE for him whatsoever, and even then, Id have him as a Hot dog vendor, as long as he doesn't suit up as a Patsie, Yet, or one of those cold weather cows up north!

Ya but Clowney was a generational talent who absolutely dominated college football. Dion Jordan was never Clowney. 99% chance he's gone next year at this point.

I'm not going to lie, I liked Jordan alot coming out of Oregon. But to expect anything from him now is a longshot.

Like others have said it would not surprise me in the least if he became at least a contributor to another team, but a change of scenery may be necessary.

Injuries are out of one's control (Clowney's situation).

Strong work ethic is a conscious choice (something Jordan has yet to display).

IMO, Clowney and Jordan are nothing alike.

My two cents.

I'll be happy if Jordan is productive in any capacity. If he cared to try, he could be a guy that gets hustle sacks and gives the coaches options as a stand-up rusher, but, even in a best-case scenario, he's never going to dominate as apass rusher. I'm more concerned that he's just not a football player, that he doesn't want it.

Sounds like Gase is giving another non-answer about Jordan. Clearly, he is expecting nothing from him this year and evaluating him for the future. Seeing the true grit and consistent excellence we are getting from our defensive stars Cam Wake and Ndomakong Suh, it really is a sharp contrast to the knuckleheads like Jordan that make even Byron Maxwell look productive. :(

Agree. I think Clowney was slightly overrated (by myself, as well), but he's a stud. And, he doesn't share many similarities to Jordan.

The only true way to evaluate Jordan is with the menu and crayons they give my kids at Olive Garden We aren't turning this lump of coal into a diamond, he's already proven he can't handle the pressure.

lets hope he can contribute somehow on this team later in the year...at least the last game of the season is home against NE, I say let him cover gronk in obv. pasing situations
