Look there is no bigger Dolfan on this board. I'm in agreement with the majority of the moves of the new regime. But I see no reason for dragging this out, publicly embarassing a man who has done everything asked of him by the team when we already have our new QB in Green. Just release the man already. What really are we hoping for? A 6th round pick? We're nickling and diming this situation to death. Whether u agree with the move to go in another direction or not, I dont see how anyone can be ok with how the Dolphins have handled the situation.

I wonder if Indy would treat Peyton like this if he blew up his knee and took a couple of years to get back.

You're right...it's not Cpeps fault. It's also not the Fins fault. Injuries are part of the game and the injuries screwed Cpep, not the Fins...

BTW, there are 800 threads on this...you should try to post on the started threads...

I totally disagree with Cameron about dragging this out. He should've just released him after Green was signed. Still, I really don't understand what Daunte is trying to accomplish. If he wants out of Miami now, he should at least talk with teams and see what they can offer him. I mean even if he does get traded, he has control over where he goes and how much he makes. He's contributing to the delays so I don't feel too bad for him.

I think Daunte is acting like a dick. He could be working with Coach Cameron and Randy Mueller to send him to a place which would be a good fit for him, but he's forced the Dolphins' hand and now any team that might be remotely interested in him knows we have to cut him and will just wait until we do. Good job, Daunte.

First of all Culpepper is the one last year demanding to play the first game.... Remember the yelling match with Saban (Satan) that was what it was about... he wanted to play.. He was afraid of Harrington playing well. He's now lying through his teeth saying otherwise.. but that's to be expected... I feel for the guy... I would hate to lose 5.5 million and now everyone knows I am not as good as I think I am...

how was he publiclly embarassed?
if im randy and DC keeps up with the stuff hes doing i hold onto him as long as i can. if he wants to screw us out of a pick, i say lets screw him right back. let him cry to the media all he wants. then sit back and give him something to cry about. we own his rights and its our right to try to get something for them. if he keeps blocking trades them we should keep blocking his attempts to be released. after all this org lost with him, he should feel greatful that hes been here this long

This is a media collaborated non-issue in my opinion. Any feal Dolphins fan knows that DC will never see the field again in a Phins uniform, so who cares. Anybody who says we should just release him is not looking at the big picture. Some have said, "well, what are we going to get in a trade...a 6th round pick?" Well, if thats what other teams think he is worth thats what we'll get. Understand that Cam and Randy are cleaning up years of bad moves of overspending for elderly free agents and trying to build with youth, something Wannstedt/Speilman or Saban did not try to do. Its going to be a few years people, lets look back in 2010 and then question these decisions.

Cpep was the one who made this public...he's the one who said that Cam embarrassed him in front of the team, that's not the same as in public...Cpep was the instigator in this instance, not the Fins...

The problem is that no team is going to take him on at his current salary - so he's worth nothing without Culpepper's cooperation on renegotiating his contract.

That's the stand-off. The team can't trade Culpepper without his consent - and Culpepper won't consent and wants to be released.

The team can try to force Culpepper's hand by holding on to him until the last minute and making him miss valuable training camp time with his new team.

Culpepper can try and force the dolphin's hand by generally making every practice a circus - until any possible compensation is not worth the headache and team issues.

I think Culpepper is dug in and it's a matter of pride now. The front office can try and screw him and hold on to him until the last possible moment - but at what cost? They need to just cut their losses and let him go.

daunte is a nuisance
hes hurt, we don't want to hurt our team with his inability to make plays and decisions
he needs to stop complaining
he came in way too early to play and it cost this team

Oh, but it is. We're a classic case of denial, fans and team alike. This has been ham handed from the get go. You absolutely don't go out and spend money like a sailor on shore leave to get a player, and then a year later after his understandable difficulties recovering from an injury, try to extort the same player after abandoning him like the Quarterback Whore this organization has become.

Are we forgetting? A lot of sports writers were wondering why we spent so much on Daunte because his prognosis after a serious knee injury was going to be that he wouldn't play for a year. Why Joey Harrington or don't you remember? Now we want a divorce but won't pay him for his time? Get real, we've disgraced him, we've run down his stock in the league and no matter how much he helped do that, we've got a jilted bride at the altar and there's going to be payback.

Frankly, I think a rational Daunte restructures his contract, tries to compete for a starting or backup job and takes whatever trade he gets, which may come when someone goes down in preseason or early in the year. I don't think that's going to happen now.

I just can't understand our decisions we are making at the qb spot. Trent Green is only a 1-2 yr stint and may not even last that long given his age. Lemon is pretty much a 2nd stringer. If Beck doesn't shine we are in some real trouble.
