I was thinking of the recent threads abouts how the phins get no media attention / respect etc. Meanwhile, it occurred to me that Ronnie Brown is involved in more edorsements / promotions than any other rookie. This is odd to me because everyone rated the top 3 backs extremely closely, they went #2, #4, & #5, all to high profile teams. So why all of a sudden is Ronnie percieved / portrayed as the clear cut best?? I understand if you might think I just have tunnel vision, but Ronnie is all over the place. It makes me wonder if it's because he was drafted before them, or because he was drafted by the phins. :hmmm:

I think maybe we're paying more attention to him...I would find it hard to believe he's got more endorsements than any other rookie...

he was the best prospect talent wise of any position rb wr hands down the best pick in the draft in my opinion.

He is a second overall pick, end of conversation. When you are hand picked to be the second best player out of all the junior and senior college players, you are expected to be a star

Exactly...he was the 2nd pick and 1st RB taken....and the first pick, Alex Smith, is rather vanilla and not the most exciting guy around.

If he really does have the most endorsements and the like, it's all about the people he has running the show. It can't be about his play, and it can't be because he was the only offensive player taken. It could be about personality or potential, but even those attributes would be enhanced by a good team selling him.

Most overall star power. Cadillac Williams got drafted into the black hole called Tampas roster and Cedric endorsed himself as certifiably insane when he did his little acceptance speech on draft day.

He's no star yet.

But almost every GM and most of the evaluators by draft day had Ronnie as their #1 RB.

Why would Cadillac Williams get as much exposure as Brown?
Why would Aaron Rodgers get as much attention as Smith?
Why would Troy Williamson get as much attention as Edwards.

It's simple that certain positions when you are the #1 overall pick at you get the exposure.

None the less, I am not one of the ones to sit here and say that he is better the Ricky. Ricky has proven that he can play in the NFL. All we have to go by is speculation and opinion on whether he will still be good in the NFL. Ronnie has pproven not a thing in the NFL yet.

So he is no star yet. All he is is hype.

That's not what I got from benson's speech. His speech and actions after he was drafted made me wish we had drafted him. I looked at Ronnie in that suit looking rather chubby and saw beson looking lean, mean and most of all passionate ready to prove his nay sayers wrong. Ronnie is just smiling putting on more weight. God forbid he does miss a portion of TC he will balloon up even larger.

Personaly I wanted Braylon Edwards and I think Benson is just as good as Brown. Thats not the point, Brown is very marketable because he is a high profile rookie who will be a superstar after this season because we are going to at least raise some eyebrows. Ronnie is going to get alot of the credit as long as he puts up decent numbers

Alex Smith could ride the pine for a half-year or an entire year or more, and therefore, he lacks marketing value....

Ronnie Brown was taken after Smith and carries the intigue in that he didn't even start at Auburn despite combine number. He was the undisputed #1 Dolphin RB when selected and his value increased with the added incentive that he'll PERMANENTLY kick Ricky Williams out of the feature back role.
