How is it that McDaniels can join the Patriots during the season? I've never heard of a coach (that wasn't fired) being allowed to join a team while the season was still in progress. Brady is already making comments about how Mcdaniels has "inside info" on the Broncos. I just don't see how this is possible. Is this BB's way of circumventing the rules (i.e. Spygate)?

I really hope the Broncos crush Brady and their Super Bowl dreams this weekend.

Its allowed because the NFL has no rule on the books against it. McDaniels was released from his contract by the rams so he was free to accept
a position with another team. He just happen to be hired by one that was still playing but he could have been hired by any of the other 31 teams including the Dolphins as well. NE's OC is done after this season and BB saw the chance to replace him with a proven OC that knows the Pats offense..its a no brainer.
Why is it because Belichick makes a good sound hiring that is within the league rules everyone thinks he's somehow cheated?

He doesnt have any inside information anyway...the Broncos are running a totally different offensive system. All McDaniels knows is stuff Bill B can derive anyway from watching film.

The Rams allowed McDaniels to speak to the Patriots (and the Chiefs). Seeing as how the Pats will be losing their OC for 2012 it makes perfect sense to bring back a guy who knows the system and was very successful in it.

And it's pretty weak to play the "cheating/circumventing the rules" angle when he was hired before the Pats even knew they would be playing the Broncos.
