The team you should be rooting the hardest for in the next 6 days other then the Dolphins is, drumroll please....The Patriots.

They can give the Fins serious help by beating the Ravens at home and the Broncos on the road.

Here is your easiest way in
Miami wins 2 of 3
Denver loses 2 of 3
Ravens lose to NE and Pitt OR
Pitt loses to Ravens

If New England defeats Denver and Baltimore (they'll be favored in both) and we beat the Jets then almost improbably we'll be a 1 win and a Denver loss in KC away from clinching a
playoff berth.

Don't concern yourself with the South. Either the titans or texans will have 7 losses because they play each other. The other wins the Divsion. If Miami gets to 7 L's they won't get in regardless, they'd lose too many tie breakers.

So everyone bust out that Tommy B jersey for tonight! haha.

I'd make the argument it would be tougher for the fins to win out then Denver to lose two, but....

Regardless, the Pats can still be the 1 in that equation. For both teams...

Ravens accomplish that by losing tonight, and Broncos losing next week to NE.

Really? Denver will be lucky to win a game. Have you seen their schedule? NE, KC, OAK

Im not worried in the least about Denver. The Ravens need to lose 2 including tonight. We can make it at 10-6

We just need to win our games and let the chips fall where they may.
We must win or it's pointless!

Exactly. Easiest way is just for us to handle out business and the rest will take care of itself. Ravens won't go 4-0 vs NE, Eagles, Steelers and Bengals. Just as the Broncos won't go 3-0 vs the Chiefs, Patriots and Raiders. NE can do us the biggest solid just by winning those 2 games.

Denver is in trouble after losing this past week. they are playing the Patriots, Chiefs and Raiders...they realistically could lose all three

Interestingly, I think one of the most important games to Miami's playoff hopes is tonight. If Baltimore beats New England, that's going to throw a monkey wrench into this whole thing. I'm really not all that worried about Denver, as many above have pointed out. What it's going to boil down to is that we cannot end up 10-6 AND tied with Baltimore for the last wild card.

The Ravens are 7-5. If they lose tonight, they basically cannot lose another game. They host Philly, then play at Pitt and at Cincy. That is not an easy three games.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here: The Dolphins will have the 6th seed locked up by Christmas Eve at about 11:30 pm.

How that happens: Miami beats the Jets and the Bills. (I know, I know. The Bills. In their house. But they just can't stop the run.)

Baltimore loses to New England tonight.

Denver loses to New England next week and loses at KC on Christmas Eve.

Once these things occur, Miami is locked in as the #6 seed. It doesn't matter who wins the NE/MIA game week 17. It doesn't even matter what happens in the Baltimore/Pittsburgh game, because whoever wins will win their division, and whoever loses is going home for the playoffs.

That's it.

We are better served if Ravens win their division. We have head to head against Pittsburgh and not the Ravens.
