It's pretty clear what went down, and it's not that the reporters who had him going to Cleveland were wrong—they merely got used. Cameron surely agreed to terms with the Browns, but before signing a contract, someone leaked the terms to three top NFL reporters, simultaneously (note that all three tweeted out identical info within a four-minute span). It's hard to imagine that "someone" being anyone other than Cameron's agent.

This article pretty much reinforces something that I suspect most of us already knew: most sports reporters are tools.

I'm not sure I will say he used the media since he got the exact same contract out of us, there is just too many Omars out there now. Credibility has left the industry unfortunately, just a rush to break the story first

The words "Full Story" are the link.... I'll adjust the format so its more obvious ... To that point: I really don't like the way this site formats it's links by default, you can't tell them apart from normal text unless you move your mouse over it.

this just goes with how media and reporters are awful now. everyone needs or looks to be the FIRST to put something out there instead of wanting to put the true and good information out there. everyone rushes into things without definition, everyone rushes into things with out actual sources, or reliable sources i should say.... and they themselves basically are not reliable sources.

i dont care if i know first, i just want to know the truth

Twitter...all want to get the information first and feel they need to offer a comment on everything that happens...that and many are required to post multiple columns a day.

I don't balme the reporters. If an agent says he has signed that's good enough to tweet it out.

Anyway, good move by the agent to drive up value. It's a tactic that obviously can't be used much, but it worked for his client.

How can this be news to anyone?

The NFL clubs and the players agents always, always, always use the media for this.

Most of these so called NFL insiders are just highly paid whores IMO.

ugh... another reason i hate twitter and such

and just why do u need to be first? wouldnt you rather want to be reliable? not anymore i guess..... and its still the reporters fault, not much of the agent. would you always trust the agents tweets only??? all they had to do is check with Cleveland as well... there is two sides of the signing, not just one!!!
