Just wondering how long it takes before people are screaming to start Chad Henne. I'm sure some people already want him to be named the starter lol, but seriously. After the first game if Beck(or Mccown) even just plays average/decent I'd be willing to bet the farm that there will be a bunch of fans freaking out and saying Chad Henne needs to be the starter. I could even see it earlier than that, TC, Preseason, First bad pass by Beck or Mccown, lol. Personally I still think Beck can be the guy but I'm coming around to the idea of Henne being a good option should Beck not work out.

Also to all of the Henne supporters what are his best attributes??? Like I said I support Beck and think he could be the guy but why could Henne be a better option for us, and please don't just say "because Beck sucks". Beck Has just as strong of an arm(or stronger), was considered the most accurate QB coming out of the draft last year, is tough, and more mobile than Henne. Does Henne do really well at reading defenses, is he better at the deep ball, does he have better pocket prescence??? IDK much about the guy..... would really like to know why he's such a good prospect and in some eyes better than Beck.

how long before they start screaming for Henne?

Wednesday before the first game.

How long before their screaming for another option?

Monday, the day after Hennes first game.

well i think if Henne has a good preseason...youll start to hear it soon in the season if Beck or McCown are off to a bad start. just like they did last year with Green and Lemon. the funny thing will be that a lot of the people screaming to put him in, will be some of the same people that were furious when we drafted him with the 57th pick. watch.

You know what I was thinking about starting this very same thread. This will either motivate or discourage John Beck and based on his training camp performance, there is a chance we wont get an opportunity to scream for him because he will be the starter. I feel Beck is in a very difficult situation and based on his age I really think they will look for any opportunity to give the job to Henne.

well im not going to say i dont like henne but he did not impress me much in michigan and i saw A LOT of michigan games. he got hurt last year after they were struggling and there back up did a lot better and almost kept him in over a healthy henne. i hope he is good in the pros but i just dont know about him yet. im not saying this because i am a huge beck supporter but its just what i saw about henne.

i agree with you completely.

Part of me wishes someone had picked him between #32 and #57, not because i didn't like the pick, but because I wonder if we would have still drafted a QB this year if he wasn't there.

henne worries me a lot. he was in an offense filled with talent all around him and struggled quite a bit. but this guy has parcells written all over him - big, strong arm, not mobile. we'll see.

Regardless of how McCown / Beck play, I highly doubt that Parcells / Sparano will fold under pressure from the fans to start Henne in 2008. They'll likely keep Henne on the sidelines for at least a year, groom him, and then allow him to battle it out in 2009....

Personally, I think this is the beginning of the end for J. Beck. He wont be able to hold up against the competition in my opinion....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

They won't be screaming for this guy because John Beck will be our franchise quarterback and will stand and become head and shoulders greater than Henne.

Henne will be lucky to ever start a game in a Dolphins' uniform.

There will always be someone yelling for the backup but.. Beck is cool. People like Beck. He's Mormon and looks like a friendly chicken. He will really have to suck hard to get people calling for Henne. Now if Mcown is starting it will take roughly .3 seconds for everyone to start yelling for Henne.

Being a Beck supporter also I'd be really pizzed if he's not given a fair chance to win the starting job. However, if he was given a legitimate chance and it turns out to be Henne, I'm fine with that because whatever's in the franchise best interests I applaud. What Henne does have going for him aside from the 9 come-back victories (which John had more than his fair share of also) is his relative success on one of the biggest stages against among the most competitive defenses. It takes presence of mind and an inner calmness to play in front of 100 thousand fans - especially if they're rooting against you.

First and foremost, I expect this staff to put Beck into a MUCH BETTER situation than the disaster of last year.

In addition, I expect Beck to be a LOT further along than he was last year, so I think (hope) we'll be positively surprised by our QB efficiency and therefore think (hope) your question is moot.

Other than that, it will take a bad series or two before the villiage idiots are beating the drum...

:)

Only the Beck haters will start screaming for Henne, then they will start screaming for the next guy. For some reason there is a huge number of Dol-Fans that have no patience for QB development.

after the first int :sidelol:

because some wont accept anything but the next Marino

Take this to the bank, John Beck will be your starting quaterback all year long for your Miami Dolphins next year.
