I mean, they brought him here to turn the Dolphins around and make them contenders again. Dam near Mission Accomplished. Think about it, lets say he stays 2 more years tops, what a resume, any team in the dumps 2 years from now would pay Double Top Dollar to get Parcells in their camp. So I ask, how long does Parcells stay? Granted when he does decide to leave, Miami should be a power house again. Mission Accomplished.

As a head coach, he had grueling long hour work days all year round.

Now, Parcells has a high paying job as the top dog in the front office. He doesn't have to travel for away games and doesn't have the long hour days. All he has to do is offer his advice, make some decisions without the stress that comes with being the head coach or GM. He is a King right now sitting in that front office position. He stays the length of his contract, and I wouldn't be surprised if he re-ups for more years after that.

in my opinion I think you can double your expectations on how long parcells will be here. The team he set up is making his job a piece of cake. This is actually the kind of job he has been looking for- He hires, fires and puts his team in place and they do the rest (while sets up meetings to get his word out)

Less stress but still getting the majority of the credit. It would be hard pressed for him to find a better set up. He has the final say on all matters but no pressure to perform.

Just out of curiousity.....if top dollar, is the TOP, isn't that like....the maximum? How do you double that? if you double it, wouldn't the new offer just be top dollar?

Sorry....couldn't resist.

nobody really knows how long he will be here. Some people will say that he won't stay for the full 4 years of his contract because he always quits before his contract is up, but who knows? That was when he was coaching. Maybe he likes being VP instead of head coach. Maybe he hates being VP and resigns after this year.

Yea but will he be happy just sitting around watchin a team that doesnt need as much attention anymore? Jets, Patriots, Cowboys, Dolphins...All teams in dire straits when he got there. I think he enjoys doing this part, so when the Dolphins dont need the turnaround anymore, I think he goes.

Well lets say somebody else gets hired for more money than Parcells to do the same job and is highest paid in the league for doing so. Once Parcells is ready to move on, somebody will Double the Top Dollar to pay Parcells. Sorry had to try and defend my craziness.

I was initially against Parcells because I figured he'd stay here for three years, build a 9-7 team, then leave as he has with all his teams since leaving the Giants.

How long does the Tuna stay?

I say long enough for a superbowl......or at least a superbowl run.

until someone runs him out of town

I think he stays until ownership starts meddling in football business. If Jerry would have minded his own business and stayed away from football operations. (i.e. Not signed "The Player") Parcells' very well could be in Dallas working on his second superbowl with the team. That is .. Dallas may have won last year rather than the Giants.

I think BP will leave at the end of his contract. Think about it. If he successfully completes his obligation to Wayne Huizenga, then at any point afterwards, the organization can and will run without him. His plan was to implement and install a structure of coaches and core players, that will leave the Fins in a good competitive stance for years after his departure. Once Sparano and his staff's apprenticeship is complete, its like building an engine, collecting parts, measuring, experimenting, assembly, etc. Start it up, give it back to the customer, have a nice day. Next customer in line?

Maybe his final stop will be majority ownership in some lucky franchise.

he is in a position that he does not talk to the media which he loves, he lives in florida and he likes spring training baseball, he only like to watch film and the games, that what he does and he hangs around practice to give some advice, the ownership will never bother him, and if they do we will chase them out of town, so where else is he going to go with all of that, this is his last stop
