and Zack Thomas?

Won't thomas be 34 during next season and Taylor 33. And before everyone says keep them a fin for life and get nothing in value for return, how many dolphins greats have been kept a fin for life? Not even Marino would have stayed a fin for life except by his own choosing. Wanny was letting him go sign with the Vikings if he wanted to. Duper...no, Clayton...no..,when did miami ever come out and say this player will not ever play for anyone else but the fins?

Trade them?

I say you keep them until they are no longer productive members of the organization. That could mean retirement that could mean next year.

No let them retire fins

Unless someone offers a blockbuster trade, their great on the field still and they can teach the younger guys

Their trade value is just about nothing, nobody is going to trade draft pick for a players that are in their thirtys. I would say that they both have at the very most, four years left in them. They will be productive until we win a Superbowl, then I would bet that they would both retire

Duper did retire as a Phin, along with Marino regardless with what you say about Minnesota. Bob Greise also retired as a Phin. Why do so many people want to get rid of ZacH and Jason? :shakeno:

I think alot of people see them as overpaid, and they are top tier players that you "may" be able to get value out of. I don't see it, PassRush is right they are 3-4 years away from retirement Zach more-so than Jason. A team would have to pay some serious money for only 1-2 years of solid play. they will stay put

We should keep them until they decide to hang it up.

Because when players reach their age is when all of a sudden they start suffering more injuries and they take longer to heal as they had last season. So when the 06 season starts and they get hurt in a mini camp and are out 8 weeks or for the season. The percentages go way up in your 30's, if your an athlete and go thru them you know what I'm talking about.

But keep them as long as possible, if it's possible I'd want them to both retire as Phins. Zach even more so than Jason.

Zach was out two games with an injury that normally keeps players out 4-6 weeks...

Until THEY want to retire. Not we want them to, but THEY want to
Yeah, nothing I'd like more than to have a couple of past-their-prime guys who don't know when to retire using up roster spots and cap money. If they don't want to retire, and they're past their usefulness, you have to cut them.
