Yea I know the NFL is still in the playoff mode.. but I think like last year the Trifecta will move swiftly and decisively. There is already a thread talking about the 5 most possible goners.. but do you think they'll be gone the first week of February?

towards the end of february i believe is when moves can start being made. beginning of march begins FA period. i see us making first round of cuts at the end of feb before FA starts

can't they just move the playoffs/superbowl up?

I'm sure Wilford already cleared out his locker...

I believe any players who were not on an active roster this season are now eligible to be signed to a "futures contract". I saw several teams who were already out of the playoffs the other day sign a couple of players to futures contracts. I'm sure we've got our eyes on a number of players around the league.

Look for Miami to offer a hefty contract to pro bowl RT Jordan Gross. Maybe resign Carey at a bargain price if he wants to stay here, and move him over to guard.

Long-Smiley-Satele-Carey-Gross

Backups: Donald Thomas, Ike, Alleman, Johnson (Carey starts at LG and Thomas starts at RG if Smiley can't make it back with that injury).

Then again, I could see Miami making a move for a bigger center to go up against the nosetackles in our division (Wilfork, Stroud and Jenkins). In that case Satele could be a guard as well, and he'd be a terrific backup at center should our next center go down... Signing a couple very good free agent o-lineman would enable us to draft other areas of need (nosetackle, LB, WR etc) .. We already have plenty of youth on the O-line and that's where I'd target free agency to make our O-line the best in the league.

This is exactly what I was pondering except with Johnson starting over Satele. And replacing Alleman or Ndukwe with a new backup OT.

I would say that probably the end of the month, first week of Feb. is when you start seeing a lot of moves being made.

If I am not mistaken, Miami has the ability to sign their own now. They could sign Carey or Crowder or Bell today if they wanted to. Signing their own is something they can work on before FA starts.

Derek Smith should have been cut right after the game. His penalty was so stupid I cant even begin to explain what the hell was goin through his head. Dont be suprised to see us sign more linebacker/safety position players to help with special teams, especially kickoff team.
