In a bar and they’re showing the Dan Marino documentary on NFL Network. Every highlight throw depresses me. It’s been so long. How many 1st rounders would you give for a guaranteed 23 year-old version of him? I’ll say 6. What say you?

Whatever it took. That documentary depressed me. My nephew watched it with me and he was amazed how he through the ball. Poor kid is 17, has never known that type of great. I apologize to him after every loss we watch together, for corrupting him in my misery of fandom.

Silly question in the sense Marino was a transcendent talent. By FAR best ever. Not even close for 2nd.

But the weird truth is -- his was almost TOO GOOD -- allowing Shula to rack up wins while NEVER

addressing the D problem and lack of legit running game.

That said -- as fans we had the chance to watch (witness) transcendent talent week in and week out.

Even throwing to midgets!

:)

5 #1s easy... Once in a lifetime player? Name the price!

So how many?

I'd give five 1st's if need be. Under the conditions, the defense and ground game would constantly be addressed until fixed.

Considering that they've never been able to find a QB half as good as Danny Marino since he retired and have missed on a vast majority of their top picks, I'd surrender a decade worth of #1 picks if it guaranteed 15 years of Marino-esque performances.

My entire 2019 draft Class and the next 2 years 1’s and 2’s, Close my eyes and hope the current team could stay healthy. This team healthy with Marino is a SB contender. With Marino and a healthy week 1 roster we are 8-2 right now.

Any average team would be a contender with Marino. Even those defensive deficient teams in the early-to-mid 90's sometimes had a shot. On more than a couple occasions it took a team that made 4 consecutive SB appearances to keep them down.

I always wished the late 90's MIA defenses with Taylor, Thomas, Madison, Surtain, etc. could have been paired with the vintage Marino offenses of the 80's. That team would have won a few SB's.

yes ill admit, I was stupid as **** and it'll probably pop up in one of those told you so throwback Thursday posts someone looks up. because yes we are wrong, and yes we are correct sometimes. why rehash it. but we had a post previously that said if you could bring back one person from the past who would you bring back, might've been this offseason, don't think it was 2017. I think my message was offerdahl because I felt a stud MLB would do so much for this defense and that our O was good enough to win with RT surrounded by the right people. Still think he possibly could be, but that's a different story, hes not healthy, and those people aren't healthy. 10 games into the season I would reverse it and say Marino. we leave way too many plays on the field, and Marino would be putting up numbers better than what peyton did in Denver under Gase's scheme. remember Gase is honestly pretty damn good at scheming people open, our QB's just don't make the read or get crushed. I think even with this line, marino knows the person is going to be open before they would. that said, I'd give up 3-1s and a couple 2's. we still gotta build around him, especially since when he became a free agent he'd require 40+ million a year and we cant replace every position with a free agent. not to mention look at how good he'd make our WR's and TE's look. Lets assume in this different world that Marino is throwing to Mike G at TE over the course of his 4 years. do you really think Mike G is going to be running 5 yard crossing patterns, NOPERS, marino is hitting him down the seem for big gains. so instead of the 2000 yards we MIGHT see Mike G get in his 4 years (im assuming progress), compared to the 4000 and 40 td's marino would have him, how expensive is his contract going to be. Jakeem putting up tyreke hill numbers instead of his current numbers? $$$ I had this debate with a friend the other day, enjoy the show that is the Chiefs right now because when they are going to get too expensive to core together.

but that's a lot of typing for something that we could only dream about in a different world
