QUESTION: How many more years, "X" YEARS, until the Dolphins are competitors in the league...as an ESTIMATION of course?

:hi:

(...if all unfolds - with the right picks in place and barring key injuries - the way the FO and Flores and his crew of coaches forecast things to eventually unfolds as predicted.)

In other words, and not to sound like a broken record, how many years (ESTIMATION) of mediocrity until, FINALLY, we have a competitve squad? As an example, the Pats reached their objective mostly through the draft - how long did it take them? Curious.

This is an ESTIMATION (duh)....

Can you tell I'm bored...?

:shame:

2 years hopefully. If we get the QB in place by 2020, I predict after the 2021 draft we should be competitive in 2022 if that makes sense.

I think you have to look at the Browns model for an answer. After going winless 2 years ago, they are now considered to be one of the top teams this year. Who knows if they will live up to that, but they are definitely stacked in terms of talent. It’s hitting on the QB pick which finally turned things around.

Phins would be in a slightly worse position because Browns has very high draft picks for years leading to Mayfield selection, so they had a bit of a head start in terms of talent.

I’d say Year 3 of the franchise QB’s career should be contender.

2022.

I'm hoping by the 2021 season. That's two drafts with lots of picks and money. If we use those right then 2021 we can compete.

If we draft well and bring in some good fits in free agency we should be competing for a 6th seed next year.

Maybe this is homer talk but I think we are on the verge of having one of the better defenses in football.

If Rosen proved he was the guy it would expedite things as well.

Awesome song BigNastyFish! My Zeppelin tat says it all!

This year I still believe we will be more comptitive then many expect, but probably more or less 7-9 or 8-8.

Next year with all the draft picks, and a year together I expect Miami to be competitive, either just missing the playoffs or in it.

3rd year, even more pick, yet another year of experience together, and definitely in the playoffs and beyond.

The wonderful thing about the NFL there is a long recent history of going from last to first. I think with all the draft picks and cap space I think by the middle of the 2021 season this team should look a REAL up and coming NFL title contending team.

IF we hit on at least 50% of the draft picks...2021 we will be competitive again.

Two years, but I hope we don't start overspending in free agency again to expedite this. Sign a bunch of "good" players in free agency after the "really good" players get their outrageous contracts.
