I have been a Chambers fan since the beginning. But since he started here I have been petiently waiting for him to become the player everyone says he should become. So far we saw one glimpse the second half of last season, but this past season he pretty much vanished completely. I am to the point where I think maybe he just isn't as good as we have given him credit for. I hope we draft someone like Ted Ginn Jr., Chambers is through. Guess we'll see.

Goes to the pro bowl last year, has a bad year this year when our entire offense sucked. Yeah, he's through :shakeno: People need to accept he isnt Marvin Harrison. He'll never be an elite WR in the league, doesnt mean he cant be very good though.

I think Chambers can be a great #2 WR in the league. Ted ginn Jr would be an amazing addition to this offense. His speed will cause defenses to steer away from 8 men in the box and it will command more attention giving Chris Chambers better opportunities.

I haven't totally given up on him, but he is not a #1 receiver. I would draft Ginn with our 9th pick and make him the man, and have CC as the 2nd or 3rd option.

I wonder if his crappy play this year was a reflection on his disatisfaction with our former coach? Whatever Saban was doing here, didn't work, and it just makes me wonder.....

I love Chris Chambers and can't wait to see him change all of your opinions back to the other side again. (Of course it'll only take one bad game for you to hate him again.)

I think it was more the change from Linehan to Mularky. Saban doesn't even touch the offense and I would imagine Saban's relationship with Chambers was no where near that of Saban's and the defensive players. Sure Chambers, was glad to see Saban go, but I bet he's more thrilled that Cameron is here.

There should be a poll added to this thread. I would like to see the number of people who dont feel Chambers should be a #1 WR. I dont want to start a new thread for the same reason so could somebody please add a poll on here?

I'm going to give him one more year...hopefully Daunte can bring him back to Pro Bowl form

Chris Chambers is a number 2 at best

Do you care to provide any evidence or no?

How many number 2's had the year #84 had in 2005? I'm sorry but Chambers would be one of the top 3 number twos in the league and is around the middle of number ones IMO.

He drops too many passes (especially low passes). He's not worth $7 mil/season. He is a poor #1 receiver.

He is still our best receiver, though. Cutting him doesn't save us much money. I don't know if he is tradeable.

I'd like to see chambers succeed. His stats are comparable to Duper and Clayton. He had a pretty disappointing year though, finishing #3 on the team in receiving yards.

What do you mean by 'given up'?

My view is that I don't think he's worth the money he is getting, and I wouldn't be sad if he was traded. From his additude and interviews, I think he has a terrible work ethic.

i hope he'll manage to change all our opininos too.. i hope C'pep does too.. i hope the whole team does... i'll just sit and wait see what cam has to give and how he'll cange our offence...i just can't wait to see that

Well put. How does a number one wideout finish third on his team in receptions without missing a substantial amount of time. Chambers is definitely not #1 wideout material, however he could be a very good second option. If we could get decent value for him via a trade I would definitely explore that option. Maybe some other team still thinks he can be their number one.
