I know its early. But in all honesty I think if the Dolphins make the playoffs that Saban is going to be awarded coach of the year. I am not saying they will but Schottenheimer got it last year at 10-6 making the playoffs with San Diego.

Once again just for discussion. I am not saying that we are going to win that much and I am not saying we aren't.

it really depends on how Crennell and Nolan do. If we have more wins than both of them, i don't see why Saban wouldn't win it even if we double our wins from last year. It would largely be affected by how the other rookie coaches do.

I would say bring this team to 9-10 wins..and he gets coach of the year.

I think ten wins is the magic number. Especially with our schedule.

Plus, the secret of our talent isn't out. Everyone thinks we're untalented and just "playing extremely well."

Little do they know we've made a ton of mistakes and are still getting used to new offensive and defensive schemes.

I dont know, Marvin Lewis looks like he has a pretty good jump on COY.

the chargers were 12-4 last year

marvin lewis is looking like the frontrunner, and gruden, too. since it's saban's first year as a head coach, i don't think he'd get it for some reason

As of 3 games. Lets see where the Bengals and Dolphins are after 16. Miami was pathetic last year and were picked to finish last this year. If Miami and Cinci have the same record, Saban should win it.

That is a good point on Marvin I forgot about him.

If they do end up the same I think the league gives it to Marvin. Just seems like something the league would do despite the fact they were 8-8 last year. Not to turn this racial either but I think the NFL would like for a african-american coach to win COY.

Marvin is an excellent coach but he probably does have more talent to work with the Saban and a much easier schedule.

Let's get around 10 games or so into the season before we start this talk. A LOT can and is going to happen. It's a long season!

I agree that if Miami and Cincy have the same record Saban might get it. Cincy has some pretty weak divisional games and they look very good. I wouldnt be surprised if they win 11-12 games, Lewis will probaly win it if that happens. Now if we won 12 games Id say Saban is an absolute lock, maybe even if we win 10 but its a long season lets see what happens.

He could be COY with 10 wins, ROY. He has a new team PLAN, STAN. So just hop on the GUS BUS.

Speaking of Lewis and the Bengals...I think they're gonna win the whole damn thing!...Well...They have played against a couple of shabby offenses...But they made Culpepper look like the proverbial deer in the headlights...they are hitting on all cylinders that's for sure...5 more INT's today... Hopefully we'll meet them in the playoffs.

I don't think number of wins would be the determining point. We would have to make the playoffs and probaply get past the wild card atleast for him to have a legit shot at coach of the year.
