I think every week you could put up a poll about whether or not to keep Adam Gase and every week we'd have different answers. My guess is after the win over New England 75 percent wanted to keep Gase. Wonder what that number is now after two frustrating losses and another year of missing the playoffs?

So, let's vote. How much change do you want this offseason? I know some want to blow it all up and start over. Some of us may want to see moderate changes like maybe getting a new defensive coordinator to replace Matt Burke.

Take a vote and let's discuss.

Ross needs to nail the trifecta: Tannenbaum, Grier, and Adam Gase. Make it really simple, starting with those three, and then move on from there. No one on the training staff, strength and conditioning, or scouting staff should be safe from the inferno.

If Ross truly wants to do right with this organization and fan base, setting us up for sustained future success, then he absolutely MUST take a flamethrower to this current circus and bring in genuinely knowledgeable, football savvy people that have a plan and understand basic logistics (like building from the inside-out, and bringing back a physical brand of football in Miami).

Rome is burning, fan the flames to the heavens.

Blow it up and get this organization pointed in the right direction. No more trying to piece this together.
Definitely leaning that way Fin Fan. Just curious, do you think Miami needs a veteran coach with a proven record of success or do you think Ross should swing for the fences again? I know when the team hired Adam Gase I was excited, but I advocated for Mike Shanahan on this site.

I think one of the areas that has really hurt Gase is not being able to put together a quality coaching staff. I don't know if that speaks to his age, judgement or what. Also, it's fair to point out that Gase is 12-6 with Ryan Tannehill starting and 11-18 without Tannehill. That does make me think he can win with competent quarterback play. That's what keeps me on the fence.

At the very least, I'd like to see Miami get rid of Matt Burke and bring in a veteran defensive coordinator. I also think it's time to move on from Tannehill. That's where I'd definitely swing for the fences. A really good quarterback can move that needle more than anything else, except maybe a really good coach.

All of the signs are there. I’m at the point where I feel like Gase might want to be fired. The things he’s doing in full view of the camera - sitting by himself on the bench, throwing players under the bus in his press conferences, barely showing any emotion during games - tell me he realizes he’s in over his head. He probably figures if he’s fired, he’ll still get paid (vs. resigning).

He’s set up his approach in a way that tells you he’s in over his head - acting like the defense isn’t his responsibility, allowing assistant coaches to make decisions on whether to accept/decline penalties (assuming that is true as was stated during yesterday’s broadcast). This is Gase screaming that he isn’t capable of being a head coach.

And anyone who made the contract restructuring decisions this team has made recently (Reshad Jones, Tannehill, Suh) should be gone. Whether that is strictly Tannenbaum, or a combo of Tannenbaum and Grier.

There are so many issues with this franchise. I just can’t get over all of the bad decisions. I think about the Byron Maxwell situation - trade for a guy, then ask him to play in a way that doesn’t suit his talents. Replace him with a rookie, who plays pretty well. The next season that rookie suddenly can’t play and doesn’t even see the field. Drake finally gets an opportunity last season after Ajayi is traded and Damien Williams is injured. He looks fantastic. A revelation. This season, he’s marginalized. Yet, he’s the most productive player on the offense with his limited touches. There are so many examples like this.

Just blow it up.

I think Miami needs to get the right GM first, and let him pick the head coach rather then the owner. We have had this backwards for years and we need to get it right. I would like an NFL coach with NFL head coaching experience. If not then a senior coordinator. The GM and Head coach must be on the same page.

I agree with bringing back a physical brand of football. I was hoping Gase would view building the defense much like Nick Saban, or John Fox two coaches he worked for. In that respect, I liked Dan Campbell. He had Miami moving in that direction. Not saying he would have been the right coach, but maybe with a couple of years working under Sean Payton he might have picked up a thing or two?

Grier has actually done pretty well, except for the Harris pick really. First draft he brings in Tunsil and Howard. Those two are among the best at their respective positions. This last year he had hits with Fitzpatrick and Baker. Some later round picks have included Godchaux and Taylor. Gesicki is someone I am extremely high on, but so far has been disappointing.

to me there is no other option at this point other than tear it all down and build it from scratch, no leftovers remain on this team

I've had that thought myself. He seems completely disinterested in being a head coach, detaching himself from his position and surroundings.

It's weird as hell, but then again like you said, maybe he just resigned himself to his deserved fate and provided more ammunition to speed up his exit. It couldn't happen to a better guy.

I never want to see him on the Dolphins sideline in a position to make game decisions, or in any way associated with this football team (even as a peanut vendor), ever again.

That makes 100 percent sense. I do think Grier has done some nice things to the point where replacing him seems odd. But I get it. Here are some names I think are worth looking into:

Mike Shanahan --- He's pretty old, but if possible I'd team him with a young coach to groom
Mike Martz --- I see he's coaching in the new league. His offensives were among the most exciting I've ever seen. QB's took a beating in his system, though.
John Harbaugh -- Keep hearing USC rumors with him.
Jim Harbaugh -- I'm not sure why he'd leave Michigan.
John Fox --- Had some success in Carolina and Denver
Dan Campbell -- Not sure what his position is in NO and you never hear him as a HC candidate which seems strange
Josh McDaniels -- Assumed to be Bellichick's successor. First coaching stint went badly.
Ron Rivera --- If he's fired

Others?

Let's clean house... trade our 1st for a 2nd or 3rd and a 1st next year. Try to get in good position to get a qb next year. Give Tannehill his last year under contract while Suhs money falls off and let the new gm/coach combo go into year 2 with resources for free agency and the draft.
