How much did each QB in the NFL benefit from YAC?

Yeah. Miami was one of the most aggressive downfield passing teams in the league.

Tua lead the league in yard per catch and adjusted yards per catch, it wasn't even close.

That effects YAC, it's attacking down field, however, I agree that YAC needs to be improved next year.

I think because we go down the field more we have less opportuity for YAC. Whereas team that dump off more have more opportunity for YAC...

Also, Waddle was 10th in YAC and Hill was 14th in the league.

Why didn't he adjust like that towards the end of last season when teams started taking away alot of our downfield stuff?

Trying to make sense of this weird stat since Tua led the league in average depth of target at 8.9 yard per attempt. If he threw the majority of his passes to Gesicki, I get it.

Imagine that. And the first half of the season so many talking heads would try to discredit Tua's performances with "yeah but he gets all that YAC from Hill and Waddle."

Like it's already been said, a lot of Tua's passes went long in the air so there wasn’t a whole lot of chances for yards after the catch.....also, our TE's weren’t involved as other teams and our TE's weren’t gettin g much after the catch. All that matters really is how many points you score so all these stats don't always tell the whole story.

Mid range and deep throws tend to yield less YAC (unless the guy just burns everyone deep). Dump down throws or WR screen type stuff yield more YAC. For example Herbert gets a ton of YAC because they love to throw a ton to Eckler out of the backfield.
