I watched some of the steeler games when we were not playing ,and Porter to me was not the same explosive LB that he was in the past. I don't know if it was due to injuries or not. There was a reason the steelers decided to go in another direction.

Does anyone know if this was due to injuries? How much do you think he has left in the tank?

He's got plenty of gas left, we wouldn't have signed him if he didn't.

The Steelers released him not because his tank was running low or empty. The released him because of his salary.

Despite missing two games last year, Porter still led the Steelers in sacks with 7 and only had one less total tackles than the previous year. If that's slowing down then I welcome that here.

joey porter has more gas then the middle east left he is the best offseason signing in the nfl end of story!!!!!!!!!!

If Jason Taylor can win the DPOY award at 32, and increase his level of play the past two seasons under the Saban/Capers defense, this makes me think that even if Porter's starting to decline a little, that can be masked due to the scheme. Having him playing next to Zach Thomas and across from Jason Taylor is only going to help him. He may have had a down year last year, but I think we learned from the opener last year that he's a big-time player.

what R you a Jets fan?

Hes not even 30 yet but he will be soon. However his body is in great shape and hes healthy. So he could be around for a long time. Zach is still going to the pro bowl post 30.
Joey we will be great!

3 to 4 quality yrs barring injuries then a drops off who knows just a thought

I think he is going to have one of his best years yet this coming season, and I believe he will fire up this team to a new level. His leadership in the locker room is incredible.

Read that link in the post above.
