I can't overlook the fact that Saban hasn't given us a playoff birth, but it all hasn't been bad. Now that it is possible that he is leaving, people are saying stuff like tell me one good thing has done for the team and we wouldn't be any worse without him. Doesn't anybody remember his first draft with the team. With many of his picks already traded away, he was able to get many quality players out of the draft that are now and in the future will be the foundation of the team. You wanted one example of what he has done right. Here are four:
1 Ronnie Brown (2)
2a TO PHILADELPHIA for QB A.J. Feeley(35)
2b Matt Roth (46) (from Kansas City in CB Patrick Surtain deal)
3a TO ST. LOUIS for RB Lamar Gordon (66)
3b Channing Crowder (70) (from Chicago in Booker-Ogunleye deal)
4 Travis Daniels (104)
5a TO KANSAS CITY in CB Patrick Surtain deal (138)
5b Anthony Alabi (162) (from Kansas City in CB Patrick Surtain deal)
6 TO SAN DIEGO in WR David Boston deal (177)
7 Kevin Vickerson (216)
No matter who you are you have to admit most of these players are good or have shown signs that they will be near in the future. With more of an offense around him Brown will be able to be a great HB. Crowder and Roth are the future JT and Thomas for our team and Daniels should be able to contribute to the team as well.

I'm a Saban supporter and realize he has had a tough road to go to make us a contender again. But I don't like the lack of loyalty I feel he's showing the Dolphins by entertaining this circus. He's announcing his decision tomorrow which tells me he's seriously entertaining this. Which also tells me his heart is not 100% in it. We can't have someone like that running our team.

the top 4 get a thumbs up....SABAN THUMBS DOWN IF HE LEAVES....dobt forget about Randy Mulller he makes statments in the draft rooms also!

I agree, but not everything he has done has been bad like some people here are leading you to believe

The things I can't forget are when Nick Saban said he wouldn't leave until "the job was done" and that he "wouldn't be the Alabama Coach". He drafted some good players here, but I will never forgive his self-promotion and lack of loyalty to an organization that gave him everything a coach could ask for, including a multi-million dollar salary.

I hope Saban stays because I think he is a great coach. If he stays and pulls us back to the glory days than this circus will be forgotten. That being said, I will always view him as a quitter and a liar if he leaves. WH gave him EVERYTHING that he needed to be successful including a new practice bubble and a huge coaching budget. On top of that, you can't say that you will NOT be the Alabama coach then become the Alabama coach. That would be the definition of a liar. I don't want to hear about the money because Bama will pay $4M/yr and the Fins will pay $4.5M/yr. The security of the long-term contract is complete BS because he will have tons of earning power after the next 3 years. Even if he fails in the Pros he will have a lucrative college job waiting.

If he does leave and becomes a quitter and liar, I hope that Bama gets nailed on NCAA violations and he has to live in probation hell.

And get beat by Auburn & Tennessee every year. As well as LSU for irony.

point well taken. dont forget this years draft too, jason allen, hopefully is going to get with the program... hagan started to really show some potential near the end of the season. then theres evans and wright, who i dont know much about personally, but ive read some people on here saying positive things about them.. he's done a good job bringing young talent in here like you said... he has an eye for that. sure you can say its cuz he knows them still from the college game... well.. great. thats just an added bonus. but theres no doubting he has an eye for talent.

I think most people forget its only been 2 years. this franchse was a mess when he got here. it only still seems like a mess because of this media circus were a part of now... if he stays, once this all goes away, and we get the QB problem solved... and some consistency with offensive and defensive systems and co-ordinators in here... i think we'll see tremendous improvement. everyone seems quick to forget how bad it was, and the other factors that contributed to the state the team is in now.

Don't forget... that if he WAS fired from the Dolphins after year three, his year four & five salaries are guaranteed. He could be making 4.5 million a year without leaving the couch.

Meanwhile, after making 25 million in five years with the Fins, plus the other endorsements / commercials, etc.... I don't think he has to worry about his "family's future" anymore...

I feel as betrayed as when Ricky Williams retired on the first day of camp.

I remember when Jimmy Johnson quit the first time... then Wayne H. talked him out of it.

And all the players named in the draft above... Crowder & Brown are solid starters. Most every other team will have the same percentage if not better.

ALSO - did you see AJ Feeley had a career game on Sunday????
What's up with that???

Very well put...

Exactly, Satan ripped apart the team... With the list above, the only good players he brought over were Crowder and Brown. The rest of what he did was garbage!!!!

Saban has made average decisions. There's no telling what someone else would have done, but....... Does anyone else think that if Saban leaves that we should get a coach that is JUST A COACH. No more of this coach/gm crap, let Mueller do the only job he knows how to do and is so good at and GM this team and let the coach do what he needs to/should do.

Cool it. Wannstedt would have ended up drafting maurice Clarett. Lets try to be reasonable here...

Its not a done deal that sabans gone...so if he announces hes staying tomorrow, a lot of you are going to have to deal with it..
