i havent given it much thought until this point, but what kind of gameplan have we cooked up, where do you think the matchups we can exploit lie in this one...any ideas are welcome

I think well try to run on em a lot. We can run on their d. IF we succesfully do wich i really think we can, theyll cheat 8 men in the box and well open up our pass game. thats my thoughts

The way to attack the Jets is to attack their safeties in pass coverage particularly at SS where they use 2 rookies, Kerry Rhodes and Oliver Celestan. Throw at David Barrett. He plays the ball Ok but he seemd to have a really difficult time last week adjusting to being thrown at aoften unlike last year. I guess that comes with having a great Cb like Ty Law opposite him. One thing i think we can do with Law is test his speed and send Chambers downfield. Law is solid as a run defender and defending short passes but Im curious as to whether he's lost a step playing downfield.

Vs the run NYJ is stout. Definitely one of the best front 7's. I dont underestimate them at all. KC has a top 3 OL and Vermeil's offense has had success running in ST Louis and w/Philly in the early 80's. If we're going to run Id run at Abraham who does what Jt did early in his career; come upfield too much at times and incidentally create a hole in the process. Abe can be overpowered. Problem is Abe's speed. Carey is going to have to mash him repeatedly and keep him down. Id screen at Abe a lot and use his speed to our advantage. The middle is pretty f'd cause Vilma is a machine. God I wish he wasnt a Jet so I wouldnt feel so dirty for showing love for an ex cane.

we beat them into a pulp. thats what we do. kill'em. screw the gameplanning. just kill them.

ok seriously, spread them out. They've got ty law, and eric colemans pretty good as well. if we go with a 3-4 receiver set, and/or use mcmike, we've got options. Avoid Vilma, attack hobson. And keep passing to barretts side. Take the deep shots when you can, I don't think they can cover it all that well.

Score Early and run the ball to death...same thing the chiefs did. Also play great defense

Just do what we did last week. We had lays coming from every angle.. It was awesome. That was the best thing to come out of last week. The Broncos never knew what was coming. Just keep'em off balance.

Runs - Counters, misdirections, delays. Let the DL overpursue and lets see if we can get some holes.

Passes - I think the Jets will play closer to the line than the Broncos did. I think Saban knows this... I think we will see a few trips formations and 4 receiver sets to spread their defense. Slants to Welker and Boston.

Its a given that we will test them deep -- I hope that Law has lost a step. I think we will see a big pass play within the first 2 plays from scrimmage.

**I hope that Law has lost a step**

I don't ... cause I wanna see us play him silly.

Either way, it's gonna be a great game. :D

Got to make the run happen to set up play action pass for the down the field ball! Need to give our defense a lead to bring the pressure against Chad, and Curtis!

this is what i love about nick saban and scott linehan. we have no idea what their plan is. we can look at the obvious, but the jets will expect the obvious, and you know "sabahan" will come up with some solid **** that the jets weren't prepared for. defensively, i think it's obvious we have to find out right off the bat if chad is oging to be able to beat us with his arm. load up and bring the heat with a cover 1 safety deep. you can risk giving up a big play and being down early, but i think we have to know what chad's ability is, then go from there.

can we expect law to be matched up with chambers to try and take him out of the game? im wondering if we are going to be facing 8man fronts again this week, imo they ,may shy away from that, which would be great, then we are already dictating to them. im also curious if they been sitting back in there cover 2, or if they have been playing more man, and bringin more heat, they have a new D coordinator dont they?

Fast, hard and relentless, IMO.

id like to see ronnie matched up against there linebackers, and ss, aside from vilma thats a good matchup for us. hopefully pass protection doesn become a problem, if weve got to do anymore than chip with our backs, i think that would be a big advantage for the jets D, especially if we had to use a te to help out with ellis or jon abe also
