I know the boards have been filled with mocks lately, and most people i'm sure are tired of them. However, while playing around on firstpick i had a great draft in my opinion, and decided to share it here for some feedback. I believe that every pick on the board would be able to help us this year, and would make us division title contenders. Yes i know it involves a trade down and those are very hard to predict, but every player i felt i would take at 19 was taken so i accepted a trade down gaining an extra 3rd.

Overall it seems pretty realistic, aside from Fales falling to the 6th round. It addresses our major needs and provides play makers. Fix right tackle- CHECK. Replace Wheeler- CHECK. Get redzone target- CHECK. Short yardage back-CHECK. Draft a starting guard- CHECK. Draft safety depth/special teams- CHECK. Draft QB to replace Moore- CHECK. Replace Thigpen on ST- CHECK.

Thoughts?

We just deliberately got rid of a big slow lumbering guy in John Jerry. The O-line hasn't functioned with the ZBS system partly because we haven't had some of the players with the lateral agility to play it properly. This was a big cause of Philbin's frustration with Ireland and the carryover from Parcells/Sparano's love of big slow lumbering cornfed. Now with Jeff departed, I strongly doubt that the very first player Hickey drafts will be a 6'7" 322 lb extremely slow lumbering O-lineman in Kouandjio (he ran a disappointing 5.59 second 40 and has some significant knee issues). Call me crazy, but why would he pick the player who doesn't fit the ZBS system? Kouandjio was a good player for Alabama and he has freaky long arms, however, the O-linemen that we select will best fit the system. Martin and Su'a-Filo best fit the system.
