This makes sense now....

Dolphins hint at wanting to trade Ricky....

Dolphins find out that Ricky Failed a Drug Test.....

Broncos inquire about Ricky's availablity......

Dolphins say they have no interest in trading Ricky.......

Broncos offer a SECOND ROUND PICK ......

Dolphins realize that this is going to be the best they can get immediately start the appeal process

Broncos get suspicious due to the non-committment they get from Miami

Broncos contact League office, someone leaks the information that Ricky failed a test.......all be it not marijuana , but none the less failed the test.

Broncos leak information to Local TV outlet

Story leaks.....

Realization that Ricky did indeed fail the test lowers players value, therefore Ricky is no longer going to be worth a 2nd round pick.

No comment can be made by the NFL as Williams can't be contacted till April.........

How does that sound to all of you?

Sounds like you watch to many CSI/Law and order shows. The Broncos purposely leak the story? I can't buy it. Mike Anderson, Tatum Bell, Ron Dayne, All serviceable backs. Not any of them are Ricky when he's healthy and has his head on straight but why would they do this then have to listen to the BS after they bring him in? espically when already have backs under contract that combined ran for 158.7 yds a game and 25 TD. Not to mention he would be suspended for a year, and useless to the Broncos.

Or Ricky just took some kind of enhancing drug to bulk up in the off season and he forgot to bring some clean pee with him. This kid isn't the brightest as we have seen in the past. It is all pure speculation anyway until the NFL comes out and says he is suspended.

Actually, RW is one of the most cerebral players I've been witness to. He lacks good judgement, not intelligence.

Yep Denver got pissed after they found out the Phins tried trading a player that failed a 4th test so the messed up Ricky's trade value for everyone, THAT IS IF HE WINS HIS APPEAL. Which some of you people seem to think its a lock for him to do. So if he doesn't win the appeal does that mean Denver bought the NFL off too??? I know you can't trade or cut a player that has been placed on IR or suspended by the league, odds are you can't trade a player thats in the appeals process or that has failed a 4th drug test.

Actually no, not CSI, more like Oliver Stone Flicks, but yes I do think this is what happend, and no I don't think your current stable of over the hill running backs, are nearly as good as ricky, Ron Dayne???? are u freaking kidding me????? serviceable, the guy had 1 good run against the cowboys in ot, don't give me that,

I commend your front office for spreading this story to lower Ricky's value, I also think that someone at the NFL should lose there job, leaking this information is a major offense. What's the big deal someone in Denver decides to give information that they found out to a local tv station, you think that is far fetched????

Your wide receivers are old, and you seriously could stand to upgrade your running back, since your team is so far (40 million) over the cap, you can't afford to land a free agent like a Edge, or Alexander, so you go after the bargain, ricky.

And honestly, I hope he wins the appeal, stays in miami, and your team falls to pieces.......

Go Chargers!!!!!

Tatum Bell is 25 thank you, our WRs are old? Rod Smith is old but thats about it. We are not 40 mill over the cap, even the false reports only have us 20 mill over the cap which I can break down for you right now.

Warren is on our books he is due for 6.5 mill next year, Lepsis is on our books next year and he is due for 6.5 both contracts voided and they are now FAs, which means thats 13 mill off that figure already. Nalen was due around 6 mill as well, his contract voided also. We resigned him to a lower cap number. John Engelberger contract was reworked as was Ekuban's. JE was a FA because we traded for him last year and his contract then voided, same with Warrens. Now there is Pryce who is working on a pay cut, because lord knows he isn't worth the 9 mill he is going to make next year. Courtney Brown is also reworking his deal, which is we don't have to pick up so thats a fake part of the number as well. His number is around 3 or 4 mill. See how much money we have to work with.

Grapeape,

My mistake, sorry bout the attack,

my assumption in "my" theory was based on Miami clearing Ricky after winning the appeal, therefore no 1 year ban.

So what your telling me is that Denver is not going to have to release a bunch of markee fa's on March 3rd to come under the cap?
