How to tryout for the Miami Dolphins

Dude, just show up one day at camp. Start lifting. Start participating in drills. Make some nice tackles, etc. There are so many people over at the Nova facility that you'll fit right in. Then when Nick says who the **** are you? Just start crying and say my name is Manuel.

EDIT- just being silly. Keep working out hard. Try and get on a JUCO or Minor/Arena team to get noticed.

The Dolphins DO NOT conduct open tryouts at ANY point in the year. Sorry.

Exactly He Didnt Say That So How Do You Know What His Situation Was You Have No Idea So Quit Busting The Kids Balls And Either Answer His Question And Try And Help Him In His Quest Or Go To Another Thread Simple As That.
Well Put.

From " NFL Frequently asked questions" http://www1.ncaa.org/membership/enforcement/amateurism/player_contacts/football/nfl_faq
"As a currently enrolled student-athlete or prospective student-athlete, is being drafted the only way to play in the NFL?

No. As a general rule of thumb, an individual can petition the NFL to declare for the draft three years subsequent to his/her high school graduation date. Four years subsequent to high school graduation, an individual is immediately eligible for the draft. If an individual is not drafted, then he/she is considered a free agent immediately following the primary draft of his/her draft year. Please note that this may vary depending on specific circumstances, so contact the NFL for more details.

Here's the number for the NFL 212-450-2069. If this doesn't work out you can gain a few lbs. and go the Sumo route.

Totally agree, I just don't think people should get too hung up on the numbers unless they are extremely slanted one way or the other.
I was asking because if he gave me a number like 225 for 3 reps, this whole thing would have to be taken a little bit less seriously. Ya know ? I remember the talk about Manuel's "poor" workout (at 16 reps). I do wish the guy the best. I'm sure he has some idea where he stands strength wise. (which IS probably why he wants 2 more years), but those numbers need to be at least comparable to a "poor" number right now to have much chance even in years.

I'm trying to figure out who you're saying is busting his balls ? I don't see that. All I'm doing is asking his current status (if you mean me).

Maybe thats why he is waiting 2 years.

Like most said here try to figure how to get in Arena Football. Also if im not mistaken there was a punt return specialist that the Saints use to have I just forgot who it was but if I remember correctly he use to drive a delivery truck and somehow he got invited and got signed. Found a link, here is the link by the way.

Sam Garnes Ss Ofg The Giants A Couple Years Ago I Think Was A Walk On

Its funny that you pose this question. I am from Spartanburg, SC, where the Panthers hold their summer practices. Several years ago, a guy who was an area standout stood outside of training camp with a sign begging the coaches to let him try out. They finally agreed to let him try out and when he did he did ok. Unfortunately, he dropped some passes (he was trying out for receiver), so he didnt make the team. The coaches said they were impressed, however, and told him to try out for Arena or another semi-pro team.

Am I the only one who think this is all BS. A 6'1 380 lb guy.

Just look at Keith Traylor. He is 6'2 337 lbs and he is a huge. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/4407

Big Sam Adams is 6'4 335
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/3006

I don't see a 6'1 380 lb guy being able to move all that much besides rolling over in his bed. Besides that, I had a doctors check up today and spoke with my doctor. He said thats impossible. If you are 6'1 and 380lbs, you are morbidly obese. He went on to say there is not that much muscle in the world to cause you to put on that much weight. If it was solid muscle it would be 210-260 and fat, up to 290 to be able to perform in the NFL. But in regular life, its very dangerous. I said all that to say this calling is talking BS.

Well many Head coaches from NFL europe come to Mexico and invite some players for a tryout in Florida, maybe you can get a shot right there, and after some Football in europe some team can contact you,....+

...hence my comment about 6'1" and 380 being borderline bedridden.

I think you are better off trying to walk onto a college team first. I'm pretty sure its near impossible to just "walk on" to a proffesional team.

not impossible i.e - Rod Smith WR Den. Bronco's

and as you the help i suggest calling the miami dolphins front office and ask them or drive out the training facility in davie and maybe talk with a player coach or someone on the staff.
