With all the talk about new coaches next year, it got me thinking (ouch) about how many college coaches in recent history have made a successful transition to the nfl.
It seems to me that most do not do very well, with obvious exceptions. I am thinking of Spurrier, Erickson, Davis. A few years before you have people like Pete Carroll, Lou Holz, john Mackovich (although I am not sure whether he started in pros and then went back to college), June Jones.
Who are some of the successful coaches who have made the transition. Excluding JJ of course.
