Dolphins coach Adam Gase believes first-year defensive line coach Kris Kocurek will have a positive impact.

“He’s going to get those guys better,” Gase said. “That’s all he has ever done in his career. He has taken guys that sometimes when you watch some of his past film, some of those guys that you’re not really sure who they are, but they’re playing hard, they’re getting to the ball, they’re harassing the quarterback. He gets guys better.”

Just think if Phillips and Tunsil can take their games to the next level what that would mean for Miami. The good news is that Phillips has improved each season, but it's just a matter of finding his A game consistently. Both have new position coaches and that can make a huge difference. Plus, Tunsil has Sitton to learn from.

I think he'll be about the same as he was with Suh next to him.

Jordan is a text book example of a number of young guys - players with obvious potential who have flashed, but '18 is uncertain. If he gets his head straight, I'm optimistic. If not, he'll always be inconsistent

Going to be same guy he’s been on film the past three years. Garbage at stopping the run, and only good for about 25 snaps tops.

We are going to be in a world of trouble with our run defense in both base and nickel.

Yup, and some of us see that right now early on, some more moves need to happen or Im going to be disappointed.

He needs a legit nose next to him so he can do what he does best and disrupt the passing game. But so did Suh - who is stout as hell against the run and can play 85% of the time, but that's not why you give someone $20+ million a year, is it? - so you can see why some are a little hesitant to assume this is going to work itself out.

They don't need to throw a bunch of money at Hankins, although I'd be cool with it. Guys like Rubin are still out there and can be had for nothing and there will be many rounds of cuts yet to come. Just get someone who can consistently stand up against the run (can be had cheap) so Phillips can use his 30% of snaps to rush the passer. Again ... this is not a difficult concept and should have been in place before Suh played a snap for the fins.
