As free agency come to a close and with less and less quality free agents on the market it made me wonder how are the fins going to compete in the AFC with everyone seemingly getting better. My point is that New England singed Bodden, and Fred Taylor, Buffalo have T.O. Jets have Bart Scott, and may have Torry holt by next week, althought the fins have done a good job of signing their own free agents(Grove, Wilson) it seems like they have to find someone young or old to counterbalance what the rest of the teams are doing, T.O. with Lee Evans will cause the dolphins secondary fits, we know Randy Moss has done and the Jets seems to beat us with anybody that they have, My points is they have not address that issue as of yet, with vetereans like Bly, McAlister, that may can help they are going to sit back and draft a Kid out of college so T.O and Randy can use as target practice, this concerns me because they are going to play the AFC North this year, the schedule will be difficult. Tell what you guys think Do you think that the dolphins are seeing what us arm chair QBs see?

Well it all depends on how you choose to look at it. We were an 11 win team a year ago with less talent, we resignd some key FA added a couple more that will at the very least compete for a position and very likely start, plus we still have the draft. We aren't in the midst of yet another HC,FO change we will be headed back to camp with a coaching staff the players believe in and know works.

This isn't the DW, Nick Saban, Jim Bates Dolphins this is a team that went from 1-15 last in the league to 11-5 and division champs, that's quite a leap and the players know they can win here. Big differnece in confidence going into camp this year than there was last year at this time.

We know what we have in a lot more positions than we did a year ago, which makes drafting a bit more exciting IMO cause we know where our weaknesses are and they are no longer EVERYWHERE! I think the division for a team that stunk for the Bills last year they were still competititve, they may not have won a division game last year, but they had their chances, we are much better than that Bills team or the 07 Dolphins so as far as competing in our division I think we'll be just fine.

Remember there's no guarantee Brady will be the Brady of old and who else in the division has a QB that scares you? I can't think of one. I think we have as good a chnce to win the division in 09 as anyone.

Imo we are pretty good right now and will adress our need at CB in the draft.. Last year showed that we didn't really need a "big-time receiver" like T.O. , it maybe would help but I think we are ok right now at WR..

And the Bills, Jets and Patriots may beat us on paper but at the end of the day it all comes down to what you do on the field. I am not worried right now..

I don't care who the other AFC east teams sign. We are clearly an improved team with our FA moves, and will only get better after the draft. The main factor is if the team plays with the same fire/never say die attitude they did last year, we got a shot against anyone.

This time last year nobody thought we would win more than 4 games in 2009. We had not acquired Ferguson, Fasano or Pennington yet. We had no idea what the draft would bring. Rewind the clocks a year and we were debating who to draft. We have 9 draft picks plus a couple of players on the trading block. We have our core players back (signing Crowder, Carey, Bell). Ronnie is another year removed from injury (most backs get stronger the 2nd year from ACL injury). We don't know who still is going to be cut by other teams that may help us. There are so many factors involved.

Maybe most importantly we have the same coaching staff and FO in place. They have a plan, and that makes me feel better than any offseason moves other teams are going to make.

We will solidify the team through the draft, and we will draft a beast of a wide receiver. Breakout year for Ginn.........watch ;)

Other teams should be worried about us! We got a lot better already by re-signing Bell, Carey and Crowder. We also upgraded Roth with Wake, Renaldo Hill with Wilson and the draft is yet to come.

Last year we got Bess, Thomas, Langford and Merling (and of course Jake) in the draft, ALL solid contributors. If this draft is as productive as last year's we'll be in GREAT shape. Other teams should be worried!

I think with the bad economy and multiple owner i am not sure if money is the problem. If they decide to spend say X dollars in FA then both owners should contribute their owneship % of the X . Maybe one of the owners does not want to spend money.

I think overall we are building a well balanced team. We have a lot of players returning back from last year. With this in mind I would think that now that they have a full season in this system they should return and be a little bit better. They should know and understand their roles all that much more. This means they will be able to master what they have in to in camp all that much better.

Everyone is concerned about safety help and that is understandable. We have however hopefully did upgrade our safety and Center postions. These were two areas of concern last season. Donald thomas will be healed and hopefully pan out to be what he is being built up as. He has had a full season now to learn the plays so that should go a long way even though he actually hasnt seen any significant playing time yet.

Point being is there alot of positives to look at. Alot of people seem to be focused on one negative and are exagerating it's significance as if it is our doom. We are improving and we still have more to improve. We are going in the right direction. The way our schedule is unfolding has been healthy for us also. Last year what we needed to build was confidence, the schedule was favorable to that. This season we need to really challenge these guys and find out how good they really are and what they need to work on to be really competitive. A schedule with solid competition is a good way to do that.

all those names (except for Bodden) are older playerrs on the decline basically.... not bad players though, but also not great great players for the mooney they were signed for.

New england might be getting a little worried again and start shopping a little more than normal like way back.... Buffalo played it safe with a one year with TO... but i think it was more for the team itself to hope to help save it from leving Buffalo and going somewhere else, like Toronto.... TO will breing much much attention tothe team, possitive and/or negative... but any attention is good attention for Buffalo. help bring in more fans back, money spent... etc...

playing wise, we will play the same way we did last year. controlled, hard hitting, well disciplined football for us all to love. no worries man.....

i never get scared of names, i get scared of PLAY

to be honest the only reason i am not 100% worried about next season is the QBs in the AFC EAST. Brady is the only good one and he is not 100% sure to be back like he was before. so lets hope the Bills and Jets can't get a QB and that will help us a lot!!!

I dont care what kind of wr you have if you create preasure on defense. I dont care if you have Moss, Owens, Fitsgerald all on the same team their just not going to get the ball.

I think we'll compete just fine. However, it's too soon to be making any predictions on where we'll finish. The draft is right around the corner as well, so there's still a lot more talent to be added around the league. Once the draft is over, and the teams are looking settled at most positions, then I'll be able to make a better assumption, but right now, it's too early to post any half-****ed notions...

IN TUNA WE TRUST....

Outside of Bart Scott, you just mentioned a lot of has been garbage. Fred Taylor? Really? Leigh Boden and Shawn Springs scare you? I dont give a rats a.. about TO and Evans. Complete desperation. The Fins are doing it the right way. The off season is not over. Lets all take a break until mid-summer.
