I have been thinking about this since the loss to the Bills.

Jets are playing hard for this guy and he seems like a coach that players love i know he was a top 3 finalist also with Philbin,McCoy,Bowles then which Ross hand picked Philbin.

I'm not sure...

I think they would play tougher, but unless Bowles can magically find a couple of guards, a linebacker, a Corner, a free and maybe a d-lineman or 2 then I think we are looking, at best, at 2-1 with a 8-8 season at best on the horizon.

We would be alot tougher. We finished strong with him at HC in 2011. We started 0-7 I believe.

Yes because the Dolphins have 9 1st round players on their defense just like the Jets...lol.

You guys love to say stuff like this...how would this guy do for us or that guy. Remember how everyone thought Suh would be the answer because he was so good in Detroit...only we forgot to look at that defense as a whole and see that he had better players around him than he does here. Dolphin fans have done this over and over...Brandon Marshall, Brandon Albert, Mike Wallace and the list goes on and on with players and the same could be said of coaches...Jimmy Johnson, Nick Saban to name the last two everyone wanted...even Cam Cameron to some extent cause we had a very good defense and everyone just thought if we could get an offensive minded coach we'd be set. But I guess if this is what makes you feel better...to pretend these things would fix the issues of this franchise go ahead and dream then.

I got a better question. How would this team be with Bill Lazor as head coach? Let's find out starting after the bye.

A lot of excuse making for Philbin in this thread. We would be better with Bowles. I don't know how good an HC Bowles is going to be in this league, but I know he's better than Joe. He has a better pedigree, he has more accomplishments, he was a MUCH better coordinator. It's so damn frustrating to watch our D's **** coaching and look across at our rivals to see Bowles and Rodgers who should still be with us. **** Ross.

Can we pump the brakes om Todd Bowles just a bit. Yes he was interim HC here & interviewed. He left here and went to Philadelphia as an assistant and then went to Arizona. He also interviewed for plenty of HC vacancies with other organizations and did not get the job. He interviewed w/ Chicago, Oakland, Cleveland, & Atlanta in the past and all those jobs went to other candidates. He is 2-1 as a head coach. And has beaten the Browns and the Colts. I am not saying he will not be a good HC, nor am I saying the Fins won't regret it, but I think we should slow down on exclaiming that Bowles is a great head coach.

I looked through the whole thread and didn't see one person making an excuse for Philbin...maybe English is your second language or something. I do see a lot of people crowning a coach with 3 games of experience as the man in charge. Kind of like when we all thought Sparano was the coach we all had been waiting for after that first season. Much like Buffalo fans think Rex Ryan is the answer and won't drive that franchise into the dirt like he did to the Jets. Coaches with sustainability in the NFL is about as common as a good Dolphins draft.

if Rex drives Buf into the dirt the way he did for us Bills fans will be very happy.

Bowles has done an excellent job w/ everything except challenges so far. 3 games is always too early to tell for a season or career but through 3 he looks better than Philbin but there's a long way to go.

a) Geno Smith getting punched out in the locker room

b) Brandon Marshall before the Eagles game: why is nobody talking about how great I am?

c) Brandon Marshall after the Eagles game: the lateral was stupid but I felt like I needed to make something happen.

He has his work cut out for him...

and he has navigated all the issues beautifully. Don't forget Richardson which it appears you did b/c of the way he has navigated the little fires.

Bowles was an NFL player for many years.

His mindset is completely different.

Parcells was touting him as a future head coach a while back.

Marshall's inane antics aren't going to elicit any response from Bowles, where Philbin & Ross would start palpitating immediately probably

Well, Bowles brought in Gailey who is never a great OC, but can take a sh*t sandwhich and at least score some points with it
