I would have to rate 3/10 because as of now we have no RB that can start, our OL is a mess right now and we dont know who will play where.

I wouldnt call the OL a mess- the talent is there, the coaching is there- it just needs to be put together. I would say at least going into this year the OL has direction and it will have a solid game plan. The results will be better from that alone, nevermind the fact that it will be the 2nd year for many of the guys playing together, and we do have more talent with McDougle and hopefully Carey.

I'd have to give our O a 4+, + for potential. I like AJ at QB, I like all our receivers especially Thompson as our 3rd..great job last year. I like D. Lee also, if Kendall makes it all the way back, go depth guy. If we get a everydown RB and the OL plays better, we should be in great shape.

Based on last year during the first half of the year I would say -1 or maybe 0, but after Wanny left we were about a 5-6. I can't make any predictions until we have a complete unit, but as of right now we might be a 6 just based on better coaching and progression.

I gave it a 6. Im ok with our Wr/Te situation and im optimistic about the OL; Houck did more with less in Sd last year. Im very worried about the qb situation cause i think Aj is awful and though I think Rb will be filled by draft day I wont gives us additional points until its officially done.

In any regard I just cant see this being higher than an 8 until Aj shows something or we upgrade there.

Thank you for a brief injection of reality

Anyone going higher then a 5 is a compelty BIased miami dolphins fan. :shakeno: espicially you people going with 8's and 7's omg.

Late last season I looked at our roster and paused in numbed astonishment. It was absolutely the worst collection of non-talent in the 30+ years I have been a Dolphin fan. That's why I continue to be amazed at the support and benefit of a doubt Rick Speilman receives here. If he is an excellent evaluator of talent, he's even better at making sure we don't acquire any of it.

At the line of scrimmage, we were a disaster on both sides of the ball, especially defensively. That's why I'm so impressed Saban has prioritized those areas. Other than JT on defense and Carey's potential on offense, we had journeymen galore on both lines. Jeno James is OK, hopefully better than that this year.

We won't scare anyone on offense without a major injection of athletic ability among the offensive linemen. And a versatile, error-free QB who can manage 7 yards per attempt. Feeley doesn't threaten any of those categories, king of the mindless line drive. Unless it's a franchise RB, I think we can hold off in that priority, similar to safety on defense. Our foundation at QB and in the trenches should be Saban's focus.

One major caution: many Dolphin fans are putting way too much stock in our offensive output late last year, especially as indicative of vast improvement. I have Excel workbooks stacked with evaluation of trends, and that is one of them. Teams that can't score and can't win inevitably boost their production late in the year. The opposition obviously takes them for granted, to some degree, and it's very common for low scoring losses early in the year morphing into higher scoring failures at season's end. Early in the year, the defense fights like hell to salvage the season. Once the record is hopeless, the defense naturally falters and the games open up. Weak teams in all sports tend to play much higher scoring late in the year. In fact, many sportsbooks refuse to book NBA totals late in the season involving two teams that are eliminated from playoff contention. They tend to waltz up and down the court in a glorified layup drill.

Are you with Ricky Williams smoking?, we supported Speilman because he was going after Woody and Tait. We ended up with the OL we had because of excessive payments to those guys by other teams. We Boston, Chambers, McMicheal, D. Lee, D. Thompson, had to bring in Booker because of injury to Boston, Had to bring Gordon because of Ricky, all this during TC when most teams have signed the best FA's, Our OL was suppose to be Wade, James, Mckinney, Woody and Tait., actually Todd Wade got over paid or he'd been the starting RT. Spielman had a good plan, but wasn't willing to break the bank. Wade lost confidence, we get McIntosh who's injured. We draft Hadnot, who turn out to be a good player. Speilman's picks and other FA's over the years has yielded this team some great talent, now it's just a matter of picking up where he left off. :shakeno:

I think from what they have done so far in the off season, they are a 5 - average at best

Assuming we draft RB: 6.5

AJ and the line have proven nothing.

And I suppose Drew Brees and the chargers O-line proved a lot also in the 03-04 season?

3/10.
Bad running game, worse passing game.

QB: Inconsistent vet who may improve.
RB: Sammy Morris/Lamar Gordon are backup material
WR: Chambers is a good player; Booker is a solid starter; Thompson is an ok backup
TE: McMichael is an improving great TE; clearly the best player on offense
OL: Worst in the league last year
