I know this is highly unlikely with all the needs the Dolphins have, but what if the Dolphins select Jake Long in the first round, then select the best offensive linemen available with one of their second round picks. This would allow the team to move Vernon Carey back to guard which he played in college. Although if Brandon Albert miracuously falls to the second round there would be no reason to move Carey to guard. The offensive line would then become a strength of the team.

Carey is a very good tackle...why would we move him to guard so a rookie can take his spot?? Why not just pick the best Guard available and keep carey where he has the potential to be a star?

Yeah... you're thinking too much. Carey stays at tackle at this point. He is solid there. However, it wouldn't bother me a bit if we went J. Long and then the best stud OL available at 32. We would definately need to go WR and CB with our next two picks though.

doesn't matter where Carey played on the line at the U,he's been an OT with the Dolphins, and if Miami drafts Jake Long, then i think Carey will get moved back to RT where he's comfortable at.

If there is a highly rated guard available I wouldn't be upset with that strategy.

I wouldn't want to move Carey to play guard when IMO he is a top 5 right tackle to begin with if he plays there with Long at LT.

I look at it like you can get a really good OG in the 3rd or later (R.Schuening,E.Young) so I would do that. Unless of course B.Albert is available then I grab him ahead of anyone else. Also we could have alot growing pains with bookend rookies instead of one rookie with one veteran.

I AGREE. MAYBE A TOP 3 RIGHT TACKLE! :mysteryma
