If you watched Howards INTs, some were thrown right at him. Plus, an elite CB should be able to do well against an elite receiver. Howard sucked against Hopkins. That game proved he isnt elite.

No contract yet. Let him play out rookie contract and see if it wasnt just a one year thing.

The second extension was premature and overly expensive for a guy coming off a season ending injury after the team showed he wasn’t irreplaceable in 2016.

The restructure was lolphins.

Tannehill got a standard forward thinking extension for a QB that a team believed can be a franchise guy. He may of not proved to be that franchise guy to get a big extension at the time but he doesn’t have to . . .and the deal had outs.

Have less issues with the Alonso deal. Tendering him always made the most sense but he played well in 2016 and team was bare at LB. Also the Cuban connection seemed like a no brainer from a marketing perspective. Seems like a “Miami guy”.

Branch was a straight up panic overpay after a decent season.

My point was Jones had proven himself beyond just the monster 2015 campaign. May have been premature etc but at least he was a proven commodity. Tannehill got that contract prior to proving much of anything. Alonso - I’ve supported because he makes plays so yeah, not end of the world. Branch was a wacky contract / agree.

To hear some people say that he should play another year to "prove" he's worth it makes me laugh...

If this regime locks up Howard at a reasonable price - $12-13mm per year, 4 years, 30 million fully guaranteed, I will be happy. That would be about average as far as annual compensation for a top-10 CB, but higher on the guaranteed money side, which makes sense, as he is also very much on the younger side of that top-10 group.

Howard's price is only going to go up. I say extend him now. His agent will want the money now, Howard will want the security of knowing he's paid and appreciated long term, and we get a cornerstone CB upon which to rebuild for the long haul.

1) He ran a 4.58 - which is the exact same 40 time as Richard Sherman.
2) The ball doesn't know what his measurables are when he intercepts it.
3) You want good measurables? How about a 4.46 40 yard time and a 6.96 three cone? That's elite, right? Right?
