Howard Not Holding Out Which Is The Right Thing To Do.

We still have delusional fans comparing their Joe Schmoe selves to professional athletes who are the top 1 percent in their profession? That's hilarious.

It's not that simple IMO. It has a LOT to do with the totally absurd income disparity

which just happens to be pervasive across all spectrums.

Personally I find the salaries in major sports to be an insult

to the "common man" who's support of pro sports is the basis

of the same! One way or another -- the fan base (and general population)

PAY for those salaries via direct means (tickets) and mostly indirect -- paying

the additional margin needed in products SOLD by the sponsors of such enterprises.

It's certainly not a sustainable platform as it is today...

My opinion. Of course.

It starts with athletic ability, and ends with performance. Need both. Only the cream of the crop athletes should play, and among those only the best performers.

So. Just to clarify:

Richard Sherman...after his third year...you DON'T sign him to a contract extension? You let him walk? The best cornerback in the league at the time? Because he had a slower-than-elite 40 yard dash time at the combine?

LOL

You’ve been basing your opinion on a wiki? Good god man.

Dude, it's on NFL.com! His combine performance! If he ran a few weeks later at pro day, and destroyed his combine performance a few weeks later, then update his "some" page so that people know what his athletic ability is.

I do not have a problem with Howard, other than he is not an elite athlete based on his combine performance. If he indeed ran 4.39 and jumped 39", pay him, he is elite!

No. Richard Sherman ran 4.56, but jumped 38" and ran a 3 cone under 7. That is not the same. Sherman is explosive and quick at elite levels.
Howard ran 4.58, jumped 33" and ran a 3 cone 7.18. That is not elite.

Or you can, you know, watch him play? Just a thought.

Okay, so now 40 times are not a deciding factor in your decision making. Good to know.

No. Not interested in eyeballing it.
Oh, so according to you and your combine numbers, Tom Brady, Anquon Boldin, Antonio Brown, Jarvis Landry (to name a few with bad combine numbers) should all be dropped immediately. Keep digging your hole.

No. Not interested in eyeballing it.

So you go strictly by combine numbers and box scores? You don't ever judge based off what you see?

They are important, everything is important. But here in Howard we have a guy who is neither fast, nor quick, nor explosive. That's not good.
