How'd you handle the WR position next year?

simple, we will have close to $50 million in cap space and mando has already suggested were gonna target either dwayne bowe or mike wallace, both will be FA's.

That cap space is going to disappear faster than the food at a buffet that John Jerry is at.

I count 23 unrestricted free agents and another 15 restricted free agents...That's 38 players that need
to be paid or their replacements need to be paid

Most notable is
Jake Long, Reggie Bush, David Garrard, Matt Moore, Anthony Fasano
Nate Garner, Brian Hartline, Artis Hicks, Tony McDaniel, Randy Starks,
Legedu Naanee, Lydon Murtha, Sean Smith

That 50 million is a pipe dream as is over paying for the wide receivers you mentioned

I think it really depends on how the WRs we have develop... If one of these guys steps up and shows something then you have a little bit more flexibility in what you do in the offseason but assuming these guys are what they appear to be then I would draft at least one WR in the first day of the draft and try to pick up one of the best WRs available in FA next year...

I am really not sure about either Bowe or Wallace. Bowe seems to drop a lot of passes and comes across to be a "me" kind of guy, kind of like Marshall is. Wallace is a little one dimensional, a "go deep" receiver, true he is excellent at that but I am not sure he worth the money is seems to want. I would rather us look to the draft and/or second tier FA next season.

Did Ireland really realize he needed a QB?

or did the fan criticism become too great to ignore, with struggling ticket sales and a large drop in season ticketholders? What about media talking heads when they constantly brought up the fact that the Dolphins have not drafted a QB in the 1st round in almost 30 years, since 1983 ?

Did these things FORCE him to draft a QB in the 1st, or did he really learn it on his own?

All those reasons, and the fact that it potentially buys him a couple of extra years as G.M.

This team lacks playmaking talent in many key difference making areas. I suspect we won't win more than 6 games, despite our easy schedule. Depending on how poorly this team looks, Ireland may get the boot. Everyone is excited about Tannehill, but when we actually see the product over 16 games, the blame is going to shift straight to Ireland. Our defense is going to be giving up huge plays this year, and our receiving core will be doing the opposite.

It's going to be real hard for Ireland to justify keeping his job after 4 straight losing seasons...My guess, is that he gets one more draft and off-season to save himself. If we then get 5 straight losing seasons, well we all know what will happen...
