FA
-Resign Carey
-Resign Bell
-Resign Goodman
By resigning him, we'd be able to address the CB position later in the draft, rather than a top priority
-Sign Jason Brown, center from the Ravens
-Satele, Donald Thomas, and Smiley all fighting for the two guard positions plus draft picks
-Sign Karlos Dansby, Crowder's major upgrade for ILB
-Cut Vonnie Holliday (not worth the money, aging)
-Sign Chris Canty (younger, much more prototypical DE in a 3-4 than Holliday..He's 6'7, 305 and only 26 years old)

Draft
-First round

Clint Sintim
-Matt Roth is too one-dimensional and Cameron Wake is more of a situational OLB. Sintim has the potential to be the total package, and the eventual replacement for Joey Porter. Has similar body type and technique to Porter as well.
-Second round
William Moore
-He's your typical Parcells guy. Biggest safety in the draft 6'1,230. One of the fastest. Can play either safety position and can play centerfield and be a ballhawk, something this defense desperately needs.
-Second Round (second pick)
Hakeem Nicks
-Anquan Boldin-esque type player.. Big, physical, not the fastest... his stock will fall when he times slow at the Combine.. thats good news for the Dolphins

How about this:
Resign Bell, Carey, Goodman if you cant resign Carey sign Stacy Andrews or Franchise him.
Change Satele to guard.
Sign Jason Brown
Sign Karlos Dansby if you cant sign Bart Scott
Release Vonnie Holliday (hard to say cause hes a good captain and person but too much money)
Sign Chris Canty
Draft Clint Sintim, Aaron Maybin, or Sean Smith with the First Round pick
Draft William Moore or Hakeem Nicks with the #1 Second Round pick
Draft a wide receiver or defensive back with the #2 Second Round pick
Maybe get Julius Peppers?

How about this:
Resign Bell, Carey, Goodman
Release Samson Satele
Sign Jason Brown
Sign Lito Shepherd
Sign Karlos Dansby
Release Vonnie Holliday(hard to say cause hes a good captain but too much money)
Sign Chris Canty

Now way I would release Satele. Even if you do sign Jason Brown. Satele was pushed around this season a bit but he is very young and played with an injury obviously. We need depth at OL.

As far as Vonnie I would love to keep him. Same deal with the DL line. Depth is super important at this time. If he does have to walk you have to replace him. Canty is a good option.

We can ill afford to get thin in the trenches. Injuries happen in there we know. The Dolphins put themselves in a bad way up front in recent years.

Depth, depth, depth on the OL and DL.

Have you ever seen William Moore play? Living in Sooner territory I pay close attention to the Big 12 and in the 5+ games I've seen Missouri in last year the guy was invisible.

His name is Hakeem Nicks, and it really bothers me when you guys make these threads saying we need to do this and that then you don't research them well. How the hell does the name Hakeem even come close to resembling the name Patrick? Also, William Moore isn't a center fielder he is a big hitter. He is more like a Roy Williams or Yeremiah Bell than an Ed Reed or Michael Griffin. No thanks, he is not what we need in the least. I will give you points though, Clint Sintim is very similar to Joey Porter.

here it is:
resign bell, carey, and goodman
free agent pickups
bodden, mcfadden, bart scott, canty, carpenter, austin
vonny will restructure his contract so he could stick since the sb is in miami and i am pretty sure he wants mentor these young guys he is no jt greedy about the money he has plenty already

draft
in no particular order
everett brown, the first pick will be one de/olb that parcells loves i.e. demarcus ware
louis delmas, but we will get a safety
would love hakeem "patrick" nicks, if he is there if not would settle for kevin britt

Relax there buddy..I was thinkin of another player while writing his name... And yes Moore is a big time hitter but also has the ballhawking skills of a Free Safety. He was asked to play more in the box in 08.. but in 07 (8 INTs) which was his better year, watch some games and youll see he was playing the "Centerfield" position.. do your research

Keep Holliday...there has been a lot of underestimating his value in the line last year. He was a SOLID player. I had no issues with his play.

What is all this ignorant blather about Vonnie Holiday not being a good player.

If you guys only knew what you really sound like when your putting down a player like Vonnie.

Vonnie has been top knotch all the way.

A 1st round draft pick taken 19th if I am not mistaken. A very sure tackler(which can't be said for a lot Ends in the NFL) and a player with the strength and athleticsm to play either End or Tackle.

He was so close so many times to sacks last year, with some luck he could have 5 more. He wasn't credited for as many hurries as he actually had and if you watch the replay of Dolphins games and look real close in slow motion on many tackles credited to our LB's and secondary guys, you will see Holiday at the bottom of the pack with his arms around the rusher's ankles.

Holiday should have gone to the Probowl in 07 when he had 7.5 sacks.

He is without a doubt our best DE and is worth a 5.5 million cap hit unless you can trade him. Tradeing would be difficult because of his age, but only because of his age. If he were a little younger he would have legitimate value.

That's why everyone who saw him cover at the Senior Bowl immediately put him at the bottom of their draft boards? Here is some research buddy:
