How come his name never surfaces as a offensive coordinator candidate? He

has been working miracles with O-lines for over a decade. Is it his own

choice to just stay where he is or is he just considered a line coach and

thats all he will ever be?
 
He is pretty damn old and I really don't know if any team would want to hire a guy that will only be in the leauge for another year or two. You also don't see too many OL coachs getting promoted.

He is already kind of the OC for the running game, as even with Linehan here, Houck's blocking schemes and running plays were used.

I think he could do it, but maybe it is just his choice to remain at the position he is in.........It's the only thing I could come up with.

Just wondering why his name never comes up. You are correct, I still think

Al Saunders with our backs would have been great.

Thats the man H. Wasn't he of Brit origin, or is that a different Al Saunders. The one i'm thinking of used to coach the Chargers.

On Houck, he did contribute last year in the system didn't he. my concern would be that he is a brilliant O L coach, but would we lose something if he became OC. Also would he be interested ?

I think Mike Tice went from OL coach to head coach for the Vikings. That's quite a promotion...I could be wrong.
 
Offensive lineman couldn't even begin to read coverages...
