Huizenga Sets Policy on Holdouts

I've sat across board room tables with the guy.

He can be as intimidating as any mofo I've ever
encountered.

All my phin dollars says we don't have a holdout this year.

I'll believe it when I see it. Wayne has been blowing smoke the last several years about the same thing. He needs to let his actions show he is serious instead of running his mouth and not following through on his threats.

Big deal, same thing as last year, this is not the garbage busibess not much he can do realistically.

i think wayne will stick by his guns this year, have to hand it to the guy to try to take the upper hand in a negotiation before the other side is even decided on!

Love the way Huizenga is taking a stand on holdouts. This is getting to be ridiculously common in the sports world. I believe he will do a great job as a strong business man and negotiator.

Shoot, he basically talked Saban into coaching the Fins and then talked him into staying instead of taking the Bama job, till telling him to leave the next morning, because he didn't want a coach with his heart not in it. Gotta commend his stand and his will to make changes to give us a winning team.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall at a negotiation between Wayne and one of the top agents like Drew Rosenhaus. I bet Drew would be a bit intimidated and Drew has negotiated with some of the best out there. Drew probably had to negotiate directly with Jerry Jones last year when they were thinking about signing T.O.

he's said all of 30 words to Drew Rosenpeanoose in his lifetime.

Randy, Bryan, another attorney and an accountant sit in on all negotiations
with agents.

The CBA needs to be change so that the contract are slotted for rookies (They basically are already anyways) and end this ******ed mess.

I would love to have him do it. Mike Williams sat out a year and went from the first pick to a bust for the Lions. You can't skip a year in football, you lose something.

Williams had no choice but to sit out a year since the NFL ruled he was ineligible for the draft in thier infinite wisdom. he played his rookie year.

I don't want him to go through with it. I understand that he is going to take every step possible to ensure that there are no holdouts, but if they happen we can't make them sit out for a year without a contract...won't we lose rights to the player? Also, if a player signs a few days late he could still be of great value near the end of the season.
