There is a movement on the General board to take up donations and make a FinHeaven contribution to the relief efforts.

I support this effort. My home and business were hit by 3 of the hurricanes last year and, by comparison, they were nothing to what is being suffered by the Gulf Coast states.

What can we do as a collective, to make life a bit easier on the folks whose lives have been turned inside out by mother nature?

If you haven't had a chance to watch this video, please do so now. It really tells the tale of what our fellow Americans are going through

Man loses home and wife

I contacted the local Red Cross and I'm considering volunteering. In addition I am sending all of my old clothes and shoes to the local red cross.

I sent a cash donation. It doesn't seem like there was as much interest in doing this as a Finheaven collective as I had thought.

Hello, Celtkin. Didn't want your efforts to be ignored. I'm donating to a few different organizations, both for the humans and animals affected. Also, I am a teacher, and my classes want to participate in an "adopt a class" program, in which we will provide materials and support to schools in the devasted areas. I appreciate your attempt to make a Finheaven-based donation.

Thanks, Holli. You have taught your kids a lesson that they will never forget and that is that age is no barrier to compassion.

I hold teachers like you in the highest regard. Thanks for taking the time away from preparing your student to pass standardized test, to pass the test of 'real life'
