I live in Virginia, and we are definitely keeping an eye on the Florence forecast which continues to predict a hit on the NC/VA coast next Friday. The Dolphins play at the NY Jets next week and there is a chance Florence could be up there around Sunday. Torrential rain and really strong winds.

Of course I'm far more excited about the game in an hour. I'll panic and buy my milk and eggs next week (I mean water, wine, and vodka).

I am in Virginia also but I’m not currently worried about it. Plenty of time for it to go elsewhere.

Too early to be concerned at this point. Caution is needed but wait and see.

Virginia here too, could cause very serious flooding into the Foothills and Piedmont of Virginia, hopefully turns out to sea and doesn’t affect anyone.

Yeah Virginia also. They talking 15 to 20 inches of rain and 115 mph winds by the time it gets my way.

Virginia here as well … didn't realize there were so many of us.

If I were in the Carolinas and Virginia, I would be preparing for a major hurricane landfall along the coastline followed by a multiple-day inland flooding event that will be similar to Hurricane Harvey in size and scope, as the storm is expected to slow to a crawl after landfall

Depending on how the storm eventually exits, rain may overspread to the mid-Atlantic states, but that remains highly uncertain.

Having gone through the stress of Irma last year, I recommend everyone in the cone to get prepared NOW, don't wait. Make your evac or sheltering plans, get stocked up on water and canned foods. Get your batteries, flashlights, crank radios ready and all that crap. The last thing you want to do is wait until its on your ass to do all this. Best wishes to everyone in the cone!

From Virginia here as well, have been keep my eye on this thing and have started to prepare for the worst.

Don't forget bread, the elixir of life apparently in hurricane season. Good luck finding a loaf wednesday. When i was younger i used to get excited for Hurricanes, still do but I really hope this thing just hooks north off shore.

 Yes bread wtf? And everyone needs at least two grocery carts full of water bottles lol. Never understood that. If I ever need that much water, i'll be going somewhere where there is running water until mine is back up and running.
