Hi,

I live in Montreal Canada. I have tickets for Sundays game and have a flight scheduled to arrive on Saturday. Miami residents, please share your opinions if I should cancel my trip because of Hurricane OPHELIA. Do you think this hurricane is heading towards Miami this weekend?

From what I've seen on the weather channel it's going to head north over the next couple of days.

This shows the storm heading North.
You NEVER know with Hurricanes and Ophelia could do a U turn tomorrow heading straight for us. However, the odds are highly against it and I think you'll be just fine. Not to mention that the storm isn't a very strong one either. Personally, I would'nt cancel the trip.

I've seen the Tampa Bay news guy come on at least three times during tonights game and he's been saying that the 'cane is expected to go North and out to sea ...but north mainly...as it is it looks way north of Miami now anyway.

Just keep checking the weather channel but IMO you've got nothing to worry about. I dont think the Dolphins have even made a statement about it since its so out there.

I live in Central Florida which is 250 Miles or so north of Miami. The Tropical Storm/Hurricane is just to the east of us and is expected to continue a northerly track. At worst it is expected to come on shore around the Space Center. My recommendation is to go ahead and go to the game.
You may get a little rain but at the moment we aren't getting all that much rain.

In 28 years I have never seen a hurricane go from north to south. Ocean current, prevailing winds, jet stream, et al. sort of make it impossible. Change track east or west? Yes. But to be in north FL/NC/GA/etc. and head in a southward motion near land....not likely.

"Yankee" hurricanes happen, but I do not believe this one will come back south. I have been watchind this one for almost a week and I think the game will be unaffected. It is small and not really affecting anyone here in Florida except those in Brevard County.

Im on my way boys!!!!!!!!! Leaving Tomorrow morning for the weekend.

This will be my first time at dolphins stadium. Too bad the game is not sold out

Ivan did it last year. Hung a U turn and came back down to Florida.

Although, I'm a little older, I have seen one do just that and it was only a few years ago. We had a hurricane come up the east coast, go out to sea, then circle around and come ashore. I want to say it was Hurricane Floyd about 5 years ago.

From the weather report here this morning (in SE VA), they said that we'll have a high pressure system here that will keep the hurricane away and may push it back down south. However, even if that does happen, it should be after Sunday. So, I don't think that it'll have influence over the game.
