I wouldn't pursue Bruce Johnson but he was far from inept as a college cornerback.
He was the worst collegiate kick returner of all time. That's what defined him, particularly on the heels of greats like Devin Hester and Roscoe Parrish.
Johnson's reputation would be better than it is, if he had strictly served as a defensive back.
