Watching the games since preseason particularly when Feeley is playing I've noticed that there were some drives (i.e. 2 min drill, end of game) when Feeley and the offense were quite effective at moving the ball. Granted, preseason isn't a great measuring tool but I believe given the current state of affairs with the OL we should switch to a hurry up offense with quite a bit of shotgun formations like the ol' Jim Kelly Buffalo Bills.

Everybody is just waiting to tee off on our O, if we implemented a hurry up O with basic play calling, nothing fancy, we would be able to put the defense "on their heels" for a change. This would also confuse their play calling for blitz packages as they would have to get the calls in quickly and this would create an opportunity to burn them as well. There's also the option that they will abandon blitzing altogether as usually that is the reaction when a hurry up offense is employed.

Let me add that it would have to be a quick snap offense with little to no motion. This would help tremendously with the illegal formation and false start penalties. Just say "hike" and GO! Any thoughts?

The thing with the hurry-up is that if you don't convert, then the Defense gets less of a rest. I'm sure that wouldn't go over too well with them.

Then they'd be too out of breath to yell at the offense.
Exactly, it's a win-win situation!

Replace the words "hurry up" with the words "no huddle" and I agree with you. You can go no huddle without rushing to the line and snapping the ball right away.

I have always believed that we should mix things up and go no huddle every now and then. Problem is, that would take teaching and planning on the coaching side. :shakeno:

This team needs to develop some bread and butter plays before it tries to expand the offense. We need plays we can run consistently WELL. Right now we have jack.

I'm not talking about expanding the offense, just going no huddle and calling plays from the LOS. Nor am I talking about having our QB's go Manning on us calling audibles at the LOS. But just calling plays at the LOS requires a lot from the coaching staff, therefore I don't think it will ever happen outside of the 2 minute drill.

I just think it is foolish to not try to catch the defense off guard and in a certain set where you can create mismatches for our guys.

I think a form of the K-GUN would be awesome. Feeley is just the QB for that too. He is a rythmn passer.
