If the Dolphins want to keep reciting chapter and verse about Joe Philbin's errors, I'll play along. The list runs deeper than the supposed stunting of Ryan Tannehill's growth, which was repeated again at the NFL meetings and remains Topic A in rehabilitating the quarterback.
Philbin didn't use Lamar Miller properly, either. Miller won't be treated like a Ming vase in Houston. He'll be run into the unsympathetic ground, the way NFL running backs usually are.

There also was receiver Rishard Matthews, who was mistakenly planted on the bench for three years until necessity demanded he play. He did well enough in half of 2015 to get $15 million from Tennessee.
The list of Philbin's errors goes on. And on. But they overlook how Philbin somehow was allowed to hang around for a fourth season and finally got something right last year that could have helped his fate.

He knew this team needed help at guard. He begged for a guard, actually. And he was told to make do with Dallas Thomas, Billy Turner and Jamil Douglas. That's the backdrop to guard being the No. 1 issue this offseason by the Dolphins' own analysis.

i kinda stopped having hope, even more-so with these awful moves made in the offseason, biggest weakness not being addressed.

so begged for a guard upgrade and was told no...I wonder by whom...uhhh tannenbaum

Doesn't that contradict the reports last season that TBaum offered Mathis 5.5 for 1 year?

IIRC, JP was begging for a guard when Ireland was in town. Doesn't absolve 'baum but it force the question of why OG wasn't addressed.

reinforces for me why we haven't made a significant move in free agency for a guard upgrade...cause someone believes that the answer is in house...and that someone believes it revolves around more strength in the weight room...if they don't add to the position in the draft I hope that someone walks the plank for these kind of decisions

T-bum's sport science is the cure all. Just lift weights and drink shakes to become a viable football player.

the thing that sucks though is who really ends up paying the price for these kind of decisions...us fans...im sure if tbaum was to get let go he'd get a nice going away package in the process and I have no doubts he will try to put it on everyone but himself so watch your backs gase and joseph

They basically let half the offensive TD production go, not properly refilling these positions and our obvious and glaring problems at OL remain untouched - literally?
TBH if Tannebaum is such a disaster why did Gase even agree to an HC gig with us. One must assume that hey talked football during the interview and a good HC candidate comes prepared by quickly browsing through the season of your possible future employer. Now if Gase did not realize what our problems were than he is as stupid as Tannebaum. If he did and Tannebaum goes a completely different way now why would I stake my reputation as a possible HC that early in my career on a broken promise during the interview part?
Philbin and Campbell should be a warning sign to him. I rather quit now and go back to being someones OC and wait for the next HC gig. But I am assuming that they both run in tandem here which does not bold well for Gase by agreeing to open a couple of unnecessary holes on offense and not closing obvious holes. We basically have an OC who cannot and will not address major holes on the offense.

Miller had 10 overall TDs despite limited touches. That tells you right there he needed to be used more and Philbin was still a bitch about it.

Hold on.... my only dream in life has been to make it from my couch to the NFL. Everyone has laughed in my face and called it a pipe dream. But... now?? Now, you've given me a renewed purpose.

See you in the bigs, suckas!

Remember that half time interview where Philbin was specifically asked why we didn't see Shelby more, and he responded "Its hard to get into a rhythm. You have a run for a 10 yard gain, but then you have a 1 yard gain, 2 yard gain, 8 yard gain, -1 yard gain..." ( I dont remember the numbers specifically ) but a really savvy Dol-fan added the numbers and it equated to a 4.7 yard per carry average haha. That's how out of his element Joe Philbin was.

Offhand I don't remember that. It isn't a surprise though.
