In the past couple of weeks, as they finalized thoughts for today's draft, the Miami Dolphins quietly brought Percy Harvin to Davie to talk. Again. And now Ronnie Brown is in the news as a trade possibility. Again.

None of that means the Dolphins take Harvin today or trade Brown. It's not even certain Harvin will be there when the Dolphins have the 25th pick or have a legitimate trade partner for Brown.

The moves even seem mutually exclusive as Harvin is a receiver and the options Brown has been linked to involve Cleveland's Braylon Edwards and Arizona's Anquan Boldin.

But what all this suggests is the ingredients of a roster-rattling draft day are there. It says some hefty decisions are being weighed by Bill Parcells & Co.

I hope at the end of his article he is questioning why trade Brown when you have Ricky and not suggesting you can trade Brown since we have Ricky. Ricky is only a shell of his former self with periodic outbreaks.

Where there smoke...there's fire.

On the day of the draft, sometimes, where there's smoke ... there's a smokescreen designed to hide the shrewd GM's real intentions. Don't think Ireland is above planting stories in the local media, or that the local media will not willingly help him do it to A) generate readership and B) get into the organization's good graces.

I don't believe anything I here this week, and certainly not today or tomorrow. What every team wants to do is a smokescreen. Every player they drafted is exactly who they wanted and a great player, every player drafted tomorrow is a real gem, a sleeper, a kid with great potential, when we saw him still available we were very happy .... yadda yadda yadda.

Smoke = Fire; OrElse
Smoke = Smokescreen

Problem is...what possible use would there be for a smokescreen concerning R. Brown?
Unless it's something on their mind and add this point...everytime a rumor comes out about a player thats not true...a team states for the record that it's not true...we have not heard a peep from the Dolphins...that to me is sending a signal.
