If Sherff from Iowa is still on the board when we pick, expect to be sedated. He is a top quality lineman and a significant upgrade on Dallas Thomas. He would be a safe pick and give Tannehill more protection.

Will not happen. Mike Tannebaum will not present the fans an interior Oline guy on draft night. Just not him. RB or WR.

Call me boring, but I want my QB to be kept upright all season, if we need to draft a lineman in Round 1, and he does his job, you wont hear me complain.

Scherff would not only be our guard, but eventually take over Albert's spot once he's gone. I would not be mad at that pick, but I highly doubt he's there @14...

Do not see it happening for the points that Hyde makes. We can get a more impact player at 14, and can we just get some 'capable' play out our OL without them all needing to be 1st round picks? Find them later in the draft not in 1st round yet again.

If Tannenbaum is running it then why would you assume he's going offense when he's picked nothing but defense in the 1st round for years?

Tannenbaum's drafts has been some of the worst in recent draft history.. Idk why he creates so much optimism on this board..

Hickey should be running the draft, imo.

And if the QB still gets sacked a bunch of times this year? We advocating a 2016 pick as well? At what point do you realize something else is up? Scheme or evaluator or whatever? We have already invested more into this offensive line than anybody in the league over the last 4 years. What a pleasure watching how thin this team is because of the constant resources we have put into the offensive line and the idea that we need to put more is just disgusting..

Offensive line has ALWAYS been a position where you can fill a hole or 2 with lower end resources and still have an effective unit.

I agree with Hyde, this is getting nauseating . . . .and there are much more pressing needs than investing ANOTHER first round pick on a ****ing offensive lineman.

Literally nobody is saying he doesn't need more protection. We get it. No, seriously, we get it. However, we seem to be the only team that needs to throw a ton of high picks and FA money at the unit with no results to show for it. Utterly incapable of developing mid-round talent like the best teams in the league, at the detriment of playmaking positions on both sides of the ball. A good team would solve the problem without throwing yet another 20 or lower pick at it. But great, Tannehill will have more time to throw to Landry, Stills, Roberto Wall...er, Rishard Matthews, and Hazel. He'll need it, because as much as I like Landry and Stills in the roles they will play, that is a terrible WR corps overall without a veteran or top rookie talent.

I agree. I hope tannebaum has nothing to do with the draft. Hickey proved last season he can manage the draft better than tannebaum.

He makes some good points.....however....with the state of our guard position....if you don't go guard in round 1.....you really need to in the 2nd.

I think the point Hyde is missing is this.....Albert's injury last year killed us due to having no depth at tackle....so if it was La'el Collins at 14 it would be a starting guard and a swing tackle for depth.

Sometimes you just have to say the obvious when listening to the inanity around: Sedate me if the Dolphins take a guard with the 14th pick overall. Just sedate me. I don't even know where to start with this. But here's a good point: There are only two of 64 starting NFL guards drafted higher than 14th.

Nice article by Hyde.

as far as I'm concerned that's all the data I need to justify me being upset with a guard at 14.

no thank you.

I actually expect Hickey to be officially running it. Tannenbaum will have input and they will be trying very hard to be seen to be working well together with Ross and the scouting staff in the room.
